Question to all members here with kids above 12 years of age :

1. Have you talked to your kids about topics related to sex?

2. If yes, how you did it? Explain in detail.

3. If not, when would you do it?

4. If you won't do it ever, why not? Why won't you share this knowledge with your kids?

Now question to members who have kids below 13 years of age or don't have kids :

1. Would you talk to your kids about topics related to sex in future?

2. If yes, then how would you do it and at what age would you consider it appropriate? Again explain in detail.

3. If not, then again why not?

One son age 13. Explained good touch and bad touch at age 3 when he joined school. Used You tube video cartoons. His school also had sessions done by a counselor

Age 10 explained consent and what is intimacy without consent. (hugs kisses hurt and assault) again cartoon videos are available

Age 11

Explained social media and ensuring safety online. I have a done a course on it.

Age 12

Explained peer pressure

explained heterosexuality and homosexuality and that homosexuality is natural and not a disease

Also explained periods conception and child birth.

Took help of youtube videos again.

School has a gender and sex education class from age 13.

I am waiting for that session to be done to explain male and female contraception and laws in India for personal safety

Speaking from personal experience above timelines are essential. World is not a safe space anymore

If you come back home pregnant, then you are not allowed in my house, i will disown you, and anyone who supports "kya kehna" type of nonsense, asked them to keep you in the house and feed you and your baby.

Also not mixing school is preferable for me as well.

My house my rule. Discipline, breakfast on time, come back home in time and sleep on time.

That's draconian. Kids should be allowed to have friends of the opposite sex.

Thanks for this thread! 👍🏼

I have a 5 yo son. I've tried to teach him good touch and bad touch, but he's hardly ever out of my house ever since COVID started last yr.

If next yr, my son goes to school to study instead of online school, then my lesson reg good / bad touch will be more valuable to him.

Dating isn't 'awara gardi'. It's natural for adolescents to have crushes and get into relationships.

I'm not eligible to answer based on the rule you've mentioned...

However, I'll leave it to my better half (if at all I have one) to do the talking... I'm scared what all unwanted info I might pass...

Yes it is, puppy love is a waste of time, mostly not even love but attractions and infatuation. These people change partners like toys. Acting on whims and false desires ( temptation) are not natural.

Not necessarily. Infatuation is a very, very natural thing. People should be free to explore their feelings. What's wrong with puppy love? Not every love needs to end in marriage.
