Is quoting considered bad in IF?

Quoting is bad, commenting is bad, laughing is bad, liking is bad, writing about others favourites is bad. Writing anything against Sonu Nigam is bad, writing anything against SRK is bad, writing anything against Ms Rai is bad, writing anything against deepika is bad, defending others comments is bad

With IF

Not anymore. Tower quotes were the worst, where there were 100s of quotes.

If you are taking a dig at someone and not quoting them, it seems passive aggressive and phattu to me. Like they want to say something to a person but aren't brave enough.

Worse are people who ask ppl not to quote them. Like they are some royals in private club and not on a public forum. I don't think having the last word means they won the argument. Its better to ignore the quoted post if it annoys you.

Lol people also used to judge ppl on their likes on some posts.

Before the site renovation, when we could quote each other multiple times, and people started considering this as their real estate project and kept on making towers and towers of quotes. It was annoying as hell, because you ended up scrolling so much and just the quote ke andar quote ke andar quote layout was capable enough to induce a seizure or atleast make you dizzy.

However now you can just quote once, so I don't think it should be a problem as such. The tagging feature helps direct members to certain posts if they aren't present at that time, so that they do miss the post.

Without quotes for an outside reader it becomes difficult to understand the context of any conversation. So quotes help here. If there is a lengthy post I want to quote and I'm sure my post is gonna land just below the concerned post then I use the tag feature instead of quote.

I hope you are asking about the quoting feature and not about 'Quotes' in general. Otherwise my such a big essay on IF quoting feature is all gonna go to waste. It's ok...I'll just consider this as janhit mai jaari.

I don't mind not being able to refer to a full conversation but I think they should allow at least the last 3-4 previous quotes. To keep things more interesting... and also to help those who chat mindlessly and don't remember what they said five minutes ago.😆

Instead of cutting it off at just one, maxing out at three to four quotes makes sense to me... to avoid building endless towers.

I have been feeling that I need the last 2 quotes sometimes. Not more than that though. I used to cry when I saw quote towers. When quoting I would just shave mine down so I dunno how or why others didn't.
