Your opinion on Marvel showing incest?

For those who haven't watched the recent Loki TV show, it gives Loki a love interest who is actually a female version of himself. Because Loki is so narcissistic, he could only fall in love with himself.

Sylvie is from a universe where Loki was born a girl. Now it's difficult to name this weird "relationship". But it's most likely incest, because they're practically twins being born from the same parents and having the same genetic mapping.

Despite this, Marvel is showing them as a romantic pair.

What do you think about this couple which is basically incest?

They're not born from the same parents. LOL....they're just different Loki's from different timelines. Different Timeline = Different lives = Different Parents.😆

Nope. Sylvie's full name is Sylvie Laufeydottir and Loki's full name is Loki Laufeyson.

Both their father is Laufey who was a frost giant. Sylvie became a variant because she was born a girl. That's where her timeline went separate from the sacred timeline.

Ain't "self-cest", whatever it is, more weird than incest?

But how is it not incest? They're born from the same parents, possibly at the same time.

Self-cest is weird enough to cause a nexus event for the sacred timeline. Now whether it’s supposed to more than incest only Marvel can tell 🤷🏻‍♀️. It clearly doesn’t follow any boundaries defined by us to be really comparable.

They are not born from the same parents . Their parents are different “variants” . See the conversation in episode 3 where Loki is asking about Sylvie’s mother and saying your mother ( not his mother ). They are just two people with different set of parents with same identity in alternate timelines .

Okay, I understand Loki and Sylvie's parents are not literally the same. But they are same people from different timelines, which means they would've had the same genetics

The DNA of Loki would perfectly match with Sylvie's biological parents and vice-versa.

Loki asking about Sylvie's mother was to know whether her mother was also Frigga or not to see how deep the variant timelines go separating them from the sacred timeline.

Later on we see the flashback of Sylvie being abducted by TVA from Asgard, showing that her adoptive parents were also Odin and Frigga.

It's not incest.

I guess you are missing the point of different timelines. The 'parents' are different individuals in both timelines. Its similar to how the Gamora who died is different from the Gamora who hit Peter later in the fight with Thanos.

Loki has always been a narcissist but always felt he was falling short. This (as in him being into a version of himself) is just an extension of that. He anyways doesn't trust anyone but himself. So this kind of makes sense for his character.

(PS - I prefer him solo, for me Loki can't trust even his own variant but Marvel's gotta do what they want)

I find it damn strange because they are the same person in different timelines and universes 😆

But it looks more like Marvel is using all these Lokis to show our Loki his true potential. He has been able to enchant because of Sylvie and learned how strong he is due to Classic (Old) Loki. So it also feels like Loki is loving himself finally after self-loathing for years.

All said and done, I love Sylvie as a character, I hope she becomes a permanent character. She'll be a wonderful add-on to the MCU sorcerers. 😃
