That always used to give me a 90’s romance vibe and even though they were fighting with each other at that time, that balcony used to give it a romantic effect. And the front of D house where Raghav visited first time. I still remember the shot where his car parked in front of the house and he stood for a second looking at the house. Sets have always been used perfectly in this show and moving from the small rooms to RR mansion, it looks like the huge space has brought the glow on the actors as well. Maybe it’s more natural light or the wider area around them. I’m sure they are also happy to be back on their sets.

I love those balcony shots!!

I also have this affection for the Deshmukh verandah, and I think most of it stems from this one shot back in episode 2. It's the loom pooja day, and we see an almost overhead shot of Pallavi walking into that open space, moving to the mandir, doing the pooja prep...ugh, it was such a pretty shot of hers.

The thing is, sets are constructed for the sole purpose of being shot in, so they lend themselves well to looking all grand and gorgeous on camera. In comparison, hotel rooms are hardly conducive to shoots with so much equipment and crew in such small spaces. They still did a really decent job for the Rao house, with the pool and the general modern coloring of the interiors. It actually felt more appropriate than the first Hyderabad set, which looked so old fashioned! I only ever liked it for the wedding day, else it was such a dull set.

For the Deshmukhs, I liked the original Janakamma house set, it was very similar to the original Deshmukh house, but when they shifted to hotels- ugh, I can't express how much I hated that set. It's so dull, it's like someone has washed the entire scene out, no vibrance at all.

I will miss the pool scenes. Don’t remember RR mansion having a pool. They really utilised the pool area to give some beautiful scenes with the right lighting effects. They really did a good job with the small hotel space, no complaints. I used to like the open kitchen, diner. Gave a cosy family feeling with all of them around the table. I remember the shot you are saying of loom pooja. She was running around and keeping prasad to Ganapathi bappa. Sanki was all smiles that day proudly speaking about his beti who had made all this possible and now it’s all different 😂

Yeah, no pool in RR Mansion. I will miss it!

Yes, that's the shot! But I'm talking of before Vijay appeared, all the stuff Pallavi did was while him and Sharda were off on a walk. This was also my favourite human, Nikhil's, introduction on the show, so I'm super attached to it 😅

(Come to think of it, it's Vijay's intro too- we only saw Sharda in episode 1. But let's just ignore that :P)

From where I stand I see she is less upset about her wedding being called off than she is about Pallavi, the widow of their family getting married before her. It shows that she always thought of Pallavi as a widow and not a young girl with bad circumstances and also shows her ethics in terms of how low she thinks of widowed women and her narrow minded personality.

I also wish that Raghav reaches Deshmukh house bhaaga bhaaga in a scared out of his mind state after that phone call and feels so relieved to see Pallavi safe that he pulls her in for a tight hug in front of everyone. 😍

I don’t know whether Mansi thinks low of widow getting married but her hatred is towards Pallavi being married, not because of her widow status but as a member of D family. Don’t know if I am making any sense. I think she always took Pallavi for granted. Remember the wedding sequence, she used to be just carefree because Pallu was there. She never used to communicate with Sulo or anyone else but only Pallavi. I used to feel it’s because of the closeness she felt with Pallavi but I guess she had just utilised her. She is also like her mum who wants luxuries and was dreaming of that perfect married life. Seeing Pallavi enjoying the life she had dreamt is a blow to her ego and that’s where she is spewing all her hatred on. She is so blinded by her hatred that she isn’t even thinking of moving on, her only thought is to ruin Pallavi’s life.

Yes... That scene is something different... As you said it adds aura.. he should atleast once in while sit at the bar counter or take a glass in his hand.. aaj kal anna ke haath mein sirf lappy hoti hain..😔

I think so too.

Whatever she may or may not feel about the rights of widows, she did feel that the family has done Pallavi a big favor by accepting her despite societal taboos and giving her 'independence', in Mansi's own words, so Pallavi should be indebted. Thus, her appreciation for Pallavi's hard work and efforts for the family, the shop, her hard work for the wedding, was never genuine. In her head, it was expected, because Pallavi ehsaan chuka rahi thi. Her true colors showed up before the marriage, after Raghav's drama that night, because Pallavi, by having a relationship, was straying from the role of grateful widowed DIL. She was supposed to beg and grovel for forgiveness after that, but she deviated from her role even more by having the audacity to get married, since she should have served the Deshmukhs for life in return for their favor.

Absolutely, you have worded it so aptly. I don’t think it’s Mansi alone, even Baba thinks the same and both of their ego has been hit quite badly.

What I love about the team is the use the spaces, lighting, and camera angles really well so you feel like you are getting to see the mansion in a new way every time. Unlike other shows where you have a standard angle from which living room, kitchen, etc. are shot, here there's no fixed one. A great example is when Raghav was sitting on a windowsill upstairs, just outside his study, with a drink in hand. What a brilliant shot! Another is a view from upstairs of him sitting at the dining table looking at his phone and laughing (during the SMS exchange scene). The list is endless and are the permutations the team comes up with to give us beautiful screenplay. Every single shot in that mansion has been brilliant.

You are making me rewatch and relive those scenes..very captivating. The study room, his sketching, his planning for new surprises for Pallavi and their encounters. Loved every bit of it. @bold, This and the first episode where he was walking back inside his home shirtless with jacket in hand...the lighting was dark, just like his life. shot from top angle, very touching. It totally got me attracted to this serial. Pallavi too, extremely lively and pretty. Like Ashi mentioned, the D house had that warmth of coziness..the open verandah space like old town architecture that depicts culture and tradition. The rains and Pallavi getting wet.

Im loving Amma and Pallavi’s bonding. She is so understanding, adore the way she plays along with Pallavi to influence Raghav and Kirti. I’m sure she will be a huge support to Pallavi in Mandar’s track. Sunny has been suddenly shown to be too much of a MCP, wonder what they want to achieve out of this track.
