What's with the strange obsession of Hindi TV shows with Punjabification of the cultural nuances. I love the Bhangras, Giddas and Tapes but showing these dancing chops amidst the rich backdrop of a Gujrati family Pagphera custom in the name of Garba is downright problematic!
The dancing looked unreal at it's best. Where are the Navratri catchy songs? Kamariya, Chogada, Dholida, Dholida Dhol are Waghaad! So many colourful pieces could be done.
I am sucker for cultural nuances and believe that in as we are progressing, some of these are getting lost! They could have made them wear some traditional Gujrati outfits to celebrate in The Haveli. The whole Rasam looked like a freaking joke.
Bas, yehi DJ waley Babu mera Gana Chala do ki Kami Bachi thi!
However much I like gal mithhi mithhi & was good to see happy Pandyas,
Me too don’t get this obsession with punju songs.
Wish atleast once they’ll give us Adbhut authentic Garba.
Agree Naagin dance is language neutral.
But rest of the songs & moves could have been atleast a bit Gujarati- even filmy ones would be ok! Take any Bhansali movie songs.
Oh well!
Edit: if they don’t want to play Garba: hope atleast makers show us Authentic Krish playlist.
Would it be fun to watch them dancing on: main ladka... tu ladki... Pon pon pooon
Add to that, some shakira! Babuji would blast the screen! has got moves anyways!
