I had a roommate, her best friend was dating a guy.. she was a Brahmin and he was not (also 10 years bad tha). Her dad wasn’t in agreement with the marriage but rest of the family was.. so they were getting married without fathers consent anyways… with rest of the family involved.. he agreed 15 days before marriage, because meri beti ki shaadi ho rahi hai and mujhe koi pooch hi nahi raha hai 🤣

Same my cousin who is a gujarati told my masi and mausa if i dont get married to the boy i like i wont agree to another, she loves a ceylonese boy..now they are engaged soon to be married❤️ and the thing is they hide from their families for 6 years,( i knew abt it but promised to keep it as a secret)when my aunt foundout there was a drama in the house but thankfully my cousin stood her ground.

That's so cool! At the time in 2011 inter faith marriage esp hindu muslim was a huge deal (I guess it still is) but my cousin just celebrated her 10th wedding anniversary and has 2 kids now so all is well.

+100.

I can’t wait to see how they’ll react when the functions begin. ☺️

But do you know maximum divorces love marriage waale hi hote hai. Opposition from families can be overwhelming.. especially if the cultural gap is too much.

Yes thats why its sometimes advisable to think the consequences before getting married.i spoke to my cousin also and told her think on what are you doing,he is from a different background and culture, there will be adjustments from both sides and you shouldn't regret later in future because you choosed each other.love is one part but you will have to accept each others families and culture too,are you ready for that, there will be misunderstanding and miscommunication because of language but you will have to understand each other....we are very close so we share alot of things,i do love her as my own sister so was really concern for her but if she is happy im happy☺️
