Gracy was good, should have got more roles..

Drona was promoted so big. It was the biggest budget movie of that time. I even remember playing Drona game on an old Nokia phone.

Raavan destroyed abhishek. he never recovered.

Drona had a game? 🤣 I understand promoting movies to create curiosity and excitement but getting all extra with games and putting all your eggs in one basket is such a bad idea and reeks of overconfidence and stupidity, both.

They should really save all the grandiosity for the actual movie. SRK did something similar with Ra.One by going above and beyond to create toys and whatnot ... when frankly, it already looked like a disaster waiting to happen. What's the point of selling toys at grocery stores? 😆 He could still take the hit then but someone like Abhishek is a different story. They should draw a line while promoting movies in that sense ... so that they don't risk losing their reputation and become the butt of jokes if and when their movies fail.

Shockingly, it's an Ashutosh Gowariker film I've never heard of before. Scroll all the way down for Abi's footfalls list. Hardly anyone saw it. Only two of his films were less seen in theaters.

Getting punished for a bad film is still understandable. Abhishek’s career literally died overnight because of the Blockbuster Dhoom 2. Is there any other actor who experienced this?

Same. 🤣 They probably wanted to set him up for superstar status if the movie had worked. Too ambitious for someone like him. I remember finding the trailers and songs so cringeworthy there was no way I was watching it and never did.

I remember all the hype around The Legend of Drona. Barring a few exceptions, period piece movies don't really excite me and definitely not with Abhishek playing a larger than life superhero as the central character, so I skipped it.

He could never command the same level of attention and appreciation as his dad and that was okay, cuz his career was still chugging along with some dignity, I think... but Drona in particular burned him big time ... it fell flat and took with it Abhishek's reputation all the way to rock bottom such that he had to reinvent himself.

Can you think of similar movies with other actors? Can you think of movies so terrible that it destroyed the actors' reputation or set them back by years if not back to square one?! Sound off below.

Dostana was released 5 weeks after Drona and it was a big hit. He got nominated for Best Actor. The following year he had Paa, again for which he was appreciated. And he had a good run those years.

Drona absolutely DID NOTHING TO END HIS CAREER. He had a very successful run from 2007-2010.
