For a change, I am surprised you didn't say Ash was the first choice for KNPH as well.

On topic, meh don't know. Kareena was a bad actress at that time too, and Rakesh Roshan heroines have a tendency to overact so who cares who plays the lead.

Ameesha may not be a good actress but she was good in KNPH and suited the role perfectly. She had great chemistry with Hrithik too.

I actually don't think Kareena and Hrithik have chemistry. They force it so much and bring out the worst acting in each other be it MPKDH, Yaadein, or even MDK and K3G to an extent. Notice how Hrithik's acting was better with Rani but annoying with Kareena in MDK? Even in AMALL's OTTness, Hrithik and Ameesha were still cute together.
