I'm sure she would've been fine.

Although Amisha Patel who I'm not a big fan of, was absolutely delightful in the film and I can't see anyone else in that role because she was that good.

If we are comparing debut performances then Kareena was much better than her in Refugee.

Interestingly as others have pointed out, Karena-Hrithik films/chemistry have always been a bit disappointing/weak.

But as this would have been their debuts together maybe it would have had a rawness to it and less melodramah than the likes of MPKDH.

Not at all. Amisha had the dopey innocent look required for Sonia’s character. She was super pretty and had way more chemistry with HR in this single movie compared to every Kareena + HR film.

She was in there for like a few seconds. Utna hi kaafi hai.

Amisha ki khoobsurati ne aisa jaadu kar diya, ki baras lag gaye jantaa ko jaanane mein that she can't act!

Uska bhai pakad mein jaldi aa gaya waise, thankfully.

I think Kareena would've been much better.

I like Kareena but I am so glad she turned down kaho na and kal ho na, both movies deserved the actresses they got. Kareena used to overact a lot like too many expressions it used to be fun and funny watching the songs but it ruins the movie.
