I started working at the age of 15. Stopped working at 20 because university got really hectic. After the years working and studying, I got burnt out and spent 2 years unemployed but did some freelance work. After that, I ended up with 2 job offers so 1 I did full-time and the other part-time to make up for the time I lost. I went back to school 2 years ago and just graduated. Due to the lockdown (we have been in lockdown for 13 out of 15 months), my work is still closed (fitness industry) but I am still employed. I will start looking for a second job or internship in my new industry once I have updated my resume.

As people have suggested, if you have gaps in employment show them that you were being productive. Include freelance work, courses and education, volunteer work or projects you did for yourself. Ask around with friends and family for help - sometimes you gotta stretch the truth in your resume.

Is it advisable to strech previous employment periods in your CV?

I left a higher paying salary job to become a full time student, I got accepted into the only big university we have in our city and was super excited to finally get into my dream career. After completing one semester, I realized how my family is struggling to pay their bills, they were behind on payments and crying complaining about the bills and it was stressful realizing that I was the financial supporter for the family. I had to make the most difficult decision of my life since I needed money for my car, gas, food and etc, I had to work and I couldn’t work and go to school at the same time. I was full time student in a medical field so I dropped out of school. I thought finding a job was going to be easy but I was without a job for a couple of months. It was the first time I took a break from working full time, I used to have two jobs. The break was needed since I was too stressed. I am stressed now since multi tasking is not good for me. But when I didn’t have a job, it was nice at first but than I started working doing agency jobs to keep myself busy and get money until I found a job. I have a job now paying less and working overtime.

If you take my advice then please don't. My current organisation had hired a reputed firm to do background check, which is their policy. Where they checked everything from my degrees, diploma's to checking with HR in my previous working organisation. Also, your experience certificate would be carrying your start and end date, if you are working in India.

Depends where you live and what kind of checks they do. Over here they only contact your references that you give them. It may not be a big deal if you stretch a 9 month employment to 1 year but otherwise no. If you have a 2 year gap, you can't be stretching your past job to cover that. Remember these people will pick up on stuff in the interview and the probation period anyways. By stretching the truth, I mean that if you did a duty once and add that to your resume to make it look better then do it. Lets say, you taught a new employee stuff sure you can say you trained new employees.

How difficult it is to get job depends on where you live, again I will thank God for He brought me to my sister's house in another city, job is a bit difficult to find here but covid cases is not as bad and there is a restaurant nearby that allows only me to hang out there still despite lockdown and also there is a park nearby where no kids in the housing area used it because they used another one. ..

If I was still in the capital city, I would have found job much much more easily but covid cases is quite high there and going out would have been impossible, i would have stuck in house and go crazy

A friend tried educating me about crypto currency. It went in from one ear straight out from the other.

The only thing I’ve ever understood is that my junk mail is filled with spammers trying to blackmail me into paying them in bitcoin to prevent my videos from being leaked. 🥺 So rude.
