I don't think he was persistently abusive though!

Aisi situation main shayad koi bhu aise react karta though.. main bhi. In reality, you cant endanger people like this because you want to help someone, woh bhi kisi aur ke ghar pe reh rah ho aap. I would have even thrown her out of my house physically...

Even in IPKKND, I remember Khushi wasn't criticised much for her meddlesome behaviour. She wasn't short tempered like him, but if someone. got into my personal space like she did.. I may have blasted her even more.

I'm sort of short tempered but not abusive lol

Ahaan is not physically abusive - but he goes out of the way to make Ishqi's life miserable for a decision she took for HER own life. He is harsh with her for her life choices, which is something unacceptable.

Arnav was angry with her Khushi because he saw her asking Shyam to divorce his sister - which is something huge. It doesn't excuse or justify his behaviour towards her but explains his hatred. Also he remained ASR till the very end for the world - that he considered ruthless. Ahaan's anger isn't something I can fathom in that sense, which is why I think Ishqi's acceptance of his proposal isn't right at this point. The only reason he has softened towards her is because of her sacrifice for Sonu, he doesn't understand that even if she had no reason, or it was her feelings due to which she walked out of the wedding. She had full right over her life and he had no right to question or judge her.

Yeah I remember how livid Arnav was seeing Khushi with Shyam, and because he loved Anjali so much, it'd make sense for him to want to seek revenge for that (wasn't that the main idea for the show? If I remember correctly, they were supposed to go with 'Didi ki Saut' as the title but changed it due to the negative connotation of it). I have a problem with showing abuse in general, because when these things reach a wider audience, there is no way to know or control how they're taking it up. ASR's reasons for his anger may have been valid but some viewers might watch that and assume that it's okay to abuse or be abused in love as long as the abuser's feelings are genuine and intense, and they ask for forgiveness later. Getting over abuse isn't that easy and healing from it takes a lifetime for many people but such portrayals might enable abusers further to manipulate the victims.

Bold: Exactly. And I'm genuinely so glad that Ishqi pointed this out in the new sneak peek bit. Even previously, when Ahaan found out about Ishqi's parents, he apologized for his behavior and back then too she had pointed out how it was his guilt and not him actually realizing his error in judgment. The same thing is happening here, and Ahaan needs to learn to stop apologizing only because Ishqi makes up for one of her "mistakes" by doing something grander😳 I'm so excited to see how Ishqi handles the proposal, because a straight yes isn't what I'm expecting from her 😆

Exactly.

Arnaz had a reason which can be understood. Same for Asad.

Shivaay did what he did for his ghar ki izzat which for me wasn't a strong enough reason to justify his sick dialogues and doings.

Talking about abuse, Ekta has crossed all the limits by showing marital rape in "Kkoi Dil Mein Hain" and that was forgiven by FL and they lead happy married life🤢

It was disgusting. I think there was a large controversy about it. I haven't seen it later in any show.

Haven't heard of this show but feminism wasn't mainstream then 😆

Ekta is absolutely the worst - how she is defending Pearl and the actors revealed the victims name. I'm appalled at how they handled such a sensitive issue even in RL. They want to support pearl as a friend., go ahead and do it.. don't make a tamasha out of the victim's family.

Even in 3 idiots.. people found the rape joke hilarious.
