This from RAMCHARITMANAS written by the great goswami tulsidas ji.his devotion,penance,surrenderance to the SUPREME is indeed an example.My dear friends i want to share one the legends about this great saint who gave us RAMCHARITMANAS,the infinite stream of devotion.

Once upon a time,tulsidasji was in kashi(now benaras).he used to take bath in ganga and offer his prayers to lord Ram.one day after his prayers,accidentaly water fell from his hands on an evil spirit.at once, it was released from a curse and it came to its original form i.e of an angel.

he was grateful to tulsidasji and asked him for a boon.tulsidas ji who had renounced this world for the sake of SHRI RAM,had nothing to do with worldly things like money,name and fame etc.so he asked the angel to give him an oppurtunity to see ANJANEYA(HANUMAN JI).

The angel smiled and said "Oh great saint, an old man comes to u everyday when u sing the glories of SHRI RAM in the evening.people from different places come to u and so u have not noticed this ugly old man.he is non other tan ur ANJANEYA.

THE saint was overjoyed.that day he waited for that old man to come and he came there.he sat silently in a corner and listened the glories of Shri Ram.tulsidasji felt like running to him and clasping his feet but somehow he controlled himself.after everyone had departed ,he followed this oldman to the forest.

deep inside the forest,he stopped the oldman and fell at his feet and started calling him "ANJANEYA".The oldman tried to disuade him saying that he was not " ANJANEYA",But tulsidsji didn't listen.tears rolled down his cheeks and then the great hanumanji was moved by his devotion and showed his original form.hanumanji pleased with the saint's devotion agreed to grant him a boon.

U r right. When tulsidasji saw hanumanji he said he wished to see lord rama. Hanumanji said he comes everyday on the river bank . Tulsidasji asked how will I come to know whether it is Him.Hanumanji said u will have to put chandan tilak to each and every saint coming to the river bank. tulsidaji did as he was told. After putting tilak on many saints there came another saint. When tulsidasji was putting tilak on his forehead, Hanumanji said " Gangaji ke teer par bhayi santan ki bhid, tulsidas chandan ghase tilak kare raghubir" and tulsidasji finally got darshan of Lord Rama.

THE saint with folded hands begged hanumanji to show him the vision of SHRI RAGHUVIR WITH LAKSHMAN JI.hanumanji agreed and asked him to wait there.tulsidasji waited for a long time and then he saw two handsome princes ridding on two horses passed through the woods.he couldn't find out who they were.he lost his patience and invoked hanumanji again.hanumanji came there and told that those two princes were none other than SHRI RAGHUVIR AND LAKSHMANJI.
TULSIDASJI was sad for he couldn't recognize his "SHRI RAM".Hanumanji took pity on him and told him to go to AYODHYA.following his instructions tulsidasji went ayodhya and medidtated there.and he saw the VISION OF SHRI RAGHUVIR WITH JANKI DEVI AND LAKSHMANJI".he wrote RAMCHARITMANAS in ayodhya.he too wrote THE HANUMAN CHALISA.he felt an eternal bliss in ayodhya i.e the bliss of union of the individual soul with supreme.in other words i would say MOKSHA.
AFTER this he went to MAthura,the religious hub of THE KRISHNA DEVOTEES.They didn't like tulsidasji singing the glories of SHRI RAMJI all the time.they told him"IF U WANT TO SING THE GLORIES OF SHRI RAM THEN GO TO AYODHYA".Tulsidasji,humbly said RAM AUR SHYAM EK HAIN",but the krishna devotees didn't agree and demanded a proof for this statement.
tulsidasji smiled and said that they will find a strong proof for this in the krishna temple the very next day.
there were two idols in the temple,one of SHRI KRISHNA and other of SHRIMATI RADHARANI.THE Next day when the people opened the doors of temple,they were shocked.They saw the idol of SHRI RAM in place oF SHRI KRISHNA and the idol of SEETA DEVI in place of RADHARANI.they were all surprised and praised tulsidasji
so was his devotion

i also heard of this great doha tht --------CHITRAKOOT KE GHAAT PAR BHAI SANTAN KI BHEED ,TULSIDAAS CHNDAN GHISSE TILAK LEET RAGHUVEER !!!! HANUMAN JI SAID THIS DOHA BY taking the form of a parrot ,hanuman ji disguised himself as a parrot & sat on the tree under which tulsidasji was sitting .

TULSIDAAS wrote HANUMAN CHALISA !!

I was knowing tht tulsidaas ji got darshan of hanuman & ram-laxman but i was not knowing the angel & tulsidaas story !!

in the show JAI HANUMAN the story of tulsidaas ji & tulsidaas ji meeting RAM-LAXMAN is shown in detail ,i saw this show when it used to come on DD1 now it coems on sony tv.
