Would like to know why Ishqi took the blame on herself to protect Sonu. Any thoughts anyone?

From yesterday, it was clear that she did it for Ahaan. Initially, she was helping Sonu as a woman but she could have revealed everything to Ahaan later but she did not. She did not want to hurt Ahaan and make him hate his sister.

That's who she is. She would have stepped up to help even if it had been someone else. However Ahaan is a predominant reason because of whom she went a bit too far. For someone else, she might have done it differently and not put herself into the kind of suffering she did for Sonu.
