Hello people from Ghumland,

Ok so here I am presenting you another chapter filled with SaiRat. I loved writing the ice cream and the bindi parts a lot. Why ? Well just read it and you will know. 😉

And yes someone has returned. 😛

Pakhi and Karishma were busy in the preparation of the party and Ashwini and Sonali were cooking the food. Mohit went to collect the cake Pakhi had ordered earlier this morning. Samrat was discussing with Bhavani Kaku and Ninad when he received a call. He excused himself and went to his room.

« Haan Moon bol. », he said finally away from the crowd.
« This moon will one day pierce your eyes with its light. », she said angrily.
« Ferocious. You know what ? Sai and you have this savagery in common. I think you both can be good friends. Dono bichhde huye behen toh nahin ho na ? », he said.
« Virat's wife, right ? Wonderful, we will team up against you. », she laughed.
« Khabardar meri behen ko mujhse chhinne ki kausish bhi maat karna. », he warned her.
« You truly love her, don't you ? », she asked happy for him.
« Yes I have started to love her. », he admitted.
« So Mr. Salunkhe if you are free tomorrow then I can come to meet you and the family. », she informed.
« Wonderful. We will be happy to have you. », he said.
« Ok then don't forget to cook my favorite Afghani pulao. », she said.
« You want my death ? My family is from old school. They don't like men to enter the kitchen. », he explained.
« Such a brave soldier is afraid of cooking in the house. I thought you loved challenges. What a dissappointment ! », she said dramatically.
« Don't challenge me. Chal tere liye mein yeh bhi kar loonga. », he accepted.
« Awesome toh phir kal milte hain. Abhi ke liye bye. », she ended the conversation.
« Bye Moon. », he hung up the phone.

With a smile he went back to the living room where everyone was waiting for Virat and Sai. It was almost eight o'clock and there was no sign of Virat nor Sai. At least Sai should have been there already. Ashwini asked Mohit to call his Dada and his Vahini.

Sai and Virat ordered their dinner. When the waiter left, Sai told Virat to call his family otherwise they will be worried. She couldn't do that because her phone was dead. Virat checked his phone and it was the same with his phone. Both hoped that the family won't be too worried. After finishing their dishes when it was time to order the desserts, Sai excused herself and went to the washroom. She actually went to the counter and asked if there was a way to make something special for her husband's birthday. She then ordered some take away food and pastries. She paid and went outside. Earlier when she was having dinner she spotted two poor children from the window. Virat looked outside and saw his wife with the children and wondered what she was doing with them. Sai talked to them and then gave them a bag full of food. She came to know that they were brother and sister. He was twelve and she was eight. They were six at home. She thanked her Bappa for giving her the intuition of ordering for five or six people in case they had more people in the family. Thankful, they were ready to do anything for her. She placed herself behind them and held their hands up to pray. They looked at the moon with folded hands. She asked them to pray for someone on his birthday.

They repeated after her, « Bappa please, keep blessing Virat Sir with health, wealth, success and happiness. Please protect him during all his missions. »
« Thank you didi. », both the children said.
« You are welcome now go and enjoy the food with your family. », Sai said with a smile.

Before walking away they hugged her which surprised her and Virat too who was still watching them from inside, in awe with his wife's kindness. The kids left and she came back inside. She sat down and seeing that he was gazing at her with a smile, she raised her eyebrows.

« Miss twenty four karat golden hearted girl, what did you pray to God ? », he asked as he couldn't hear a word from inside.
« Why should I tell you ? », she replied.
« Sai. », he said as if he was begging her.
« We prayed for a Khadus Jasoos' well being. We asked Bappa to bless him with health, wealth, success and happiness. As his job is quite risky we asked Bappa to protect him when he is on mission. », she said with a smile.
« Achcha toh tum aapne pati ke liye prarthna kar rahi thi ? », he asked teasingly.
« Who told you it was for you ? », she askd back.
« How many KJ do you know ? », he asked.

She burst out laughing. He started laughing too after realizing that he called himself KJ. Just then the birthday song played on and the waiter brought their dessert platters which contained a piece of gulab jamun cake, some flowers to decorate. And on his plate it was written « Happy Birthday Virat Sir ! » with chocolate syrup. The other customers looked at them and cheered for him. He shyly smiled at them.

« Kab kya kar jaati ho kisi ko kuch pata hi nahin chalta hai. », he said.
« What's the fun in being like everyone ? The fun is being different. », she replied.

He looked at her. Her uniqueness brought so much happiness in the house and in his life too. When he asked for the bill, the waiter informed him that Sai had already paid it. They left the place and walked back to the hotel. On their way, he told her not to waste her money but she argued that it was his birthday. In the middle of their arguments came an ice cream parlor.

« Ice creaaaaaam... Virat Sir buy me one. », she looked at him with a puppy face.

Knowing her profound love for ice cream, he agreed. As usual she was confused which flavor to choose. She started her « Akkad bakkad bambey bo » and wasn't satisfied with the result. She tried again and made faces. She decided to try her luck one last time and this time she was quite satisfied. Virat turned his head on the other side and laughed. He never understood what was the purpose to do it when she wasn't willing to accept the fate but he found it so adorable. She chose one caramel mocha flavor and one cheesecake. He chose the eternal classic vanila flavor.

« How boring ! », she made faces about the choice.

They walked outside while eating their ice creams and enjoying the chilly weather. Accidentally he got pushed by a pedestrian making his ice cream slip from his hand. She first looked at him shocked then burst out laughing.

« See even Babba didn't want to accept your choice. », she made fun of him.

He looked at her as she was teasing him. He went near her and slowly approached his face towards hers while she was busy licking her ice cream. He finally licked the same ice cream from the other side. Having him so close and sharing the same ice cream made her shiver. She was almost about to drop it but he held her hand in time and lifted it back near the face to lick it again. He smiled seeing her nervous and backed. She composed herself and offered him the ice cream as she had the other one.

In Chavan Niwas everyone was worried. Mohit and Samrat tried their numbers but they got no answers.

« I hope nothing happened to my kids again. I hope Sai is fine. », Ashwini prayed anxiously.
« Or maybe they are just celebrating his birthday away from the family. Nowadays for Virat only Sai matters and he agrees to whatever she says. She probably wants him only for herself. », Pakhi blurted out in anger.

Just then Mohit's phone rang and he picked up the phone. Virat informed him about the car incident which was making him spend the night in Bhandara and they don't have to worry about Sai either as she was with him. Ashwini and Kaku thanked God but the latter went back on her angry mode.

« He went for some work and it's not his fault if the car broke down. We can celebrate his birthday tomorrow once they will return. Let's not spoil the mood. I am saying this because one of my friends is coming for lunch tomorrow. I want everyone to behave and welcome her with a smile, please. », Samrat requested.

They finally had dinner and went to bed. Most of them where spiteful about the fact that Virat didn't tell them where he went and with whom he went. After Samrat fell asleep, Pakhi went to the balcony for fresh air. She was tormented by Sai and Virat's closeness. She cursed herself for not knowing his birthday, allowing Sai to get all his attention. Now that she had finally organzied something special for him, he was busy with his wife in another city.

Sai came out from the washroom freshened up. He was looking at the moon out of the window. She asked him if he has called the family to which he replied with a « Hmmm !! ». Sai shook her head. His love for the moon had no words. She took her pillow and dropped it down. He finally turned his head and saw that she lying on the floor.

« Sai, why are you sleeping on the floor ? », he asked walking towards her.
« Virat Sir this bed is not a king size bed like yours and we don't even have the pillows. », she said sitting up.
He facepalmed, « If one day we will sleep without the pillow wall the world won't come to an end. Get up and come to the bed. », he held her hands and pulled her up. « You trust me, right ? », he asked seeing her nervous.

She nodded with a smile and put the pillow back on the bed and lay down there. He went to the washroom to freshen up and when he came back she had already fallen asleep. He sat down on the bed and looked at her. This was the same girl who used to piss him off but now she has become so special and so precious to him. She turned side and opened her eyes. He gasped as soon as she caught him red handed watching her.

« Bandaron jaise shakal kyun bana kar rakha hai ? », she asked half asleep.

He shook his had. She could insult him any time and in any situation, even in her sleep. He switched off the lamp and lay down to sleep.


Next morning, Sai woke up with Virat being half on her and his arm wrapping her. Usually she is the one tossing and turning in bed but this time it was him who had no idea where his hands and legs were. While she tried to disentangle her body from him, Virat woke up and immediately moved away. He was embarrassed that he had told her to trust him the night before and today he had no control over his body. He apololized and she ensured him that she didn't mind it the way he didn't mind it when she accidentally once put her hand on him. Sai went back to sleep. For once that she could enjoy the sleep in. Virat couldn't sleep so he decided to go out. Some time later when Sai woke up, she didn't find him in the room. Worried, she tried to call him but he didn't answer. She went to the washroom to wash up. When she came out he was sitting on the bed. She walked to him sulking.

« Where did you go leaving me alone here ? », she asked angrily.
« Someone missed me ? », he joked but seeing her angry face he added, « Ek ladki bandarya jaisi shakal bana kar mujhe kyun dekh rahi hai ? »
« Hoooo !!! You called me a bandarya ? », she pouted.
« You also called me a bandar yesterday. And I didn't take your name. », he laughed.
« Oh please I know what you meant. Wait... when did I call you a bandar ? », she asked.
« Hoooo !! You don't even remember that you called me a bandar. Sai this means you insult me even in your sleep. », he stated faking to be upset.
She chuckled, « Sorry ! ».
« I went to get something for us. », he said.

Excited she opened the box and found a saree. As they didn't have anything to wear, he went to buy a magenta color saree for her and a kurta of the same color for himself.

« That's so beautiful, Virat Sir, thank you. But why do you always gift me sarees ? », she asked.
« Because I like you in saree the most. », he confessed without thinking.

She blushed and he went to the washroom. After taking a shower he came back in his new kurta. She couldn't take her eyes off him while he approached her questioningly. She finally looked away and went to the washroom for a shower. When she came out in her beautiful new saree with her wet hair, his eyes followed her till the dresser from where she picked her bangles and put them back on her hand. She looked for her white stone bindi she had stuck on the mirror which miraculously has disappeared. Virat came from behind and turned her around. He pressed her against the wall and gazed at her. Nervous, she avoided his eyes. He then put the bindi on her forehead. Surprised, she looked up. He adjusted the bindi and then caressing down from her cheek to her chin, he lifted it up to have a better look.

« Perfect. », he said for both the adjustment and her beauty.
« We... we... are getting... late. », she managed to say breathless.

He smiled and moved away. She went to get her bag and both left.

They first went to a restaurant for a breakfast then got their car back. They drove back home but stopped by the temple to pray. The priest brought the aarti thali. Virat took a pinch of the vermilion and filled Sai's forehead. On their way to the car they spotted a sweet shop. As they forgot to buy gifts for the family, they entered to buy sweets for them. They came back to the car and he started to drive. She checked her phone and saw a few missed calls from Ashwini. She called her back and talked to her while Virat glanced at her a few times. She looked so beautiful in saree. She cracked a joke to his mother and herself laughed. She looked so breathtakingly beautiful. The sindoor added more to her beauty. He felt the temperature rise and fanned himself.
