Home is where the heart is

Former regulars on the city's social circuit, Paul Smith and wife Viveka Kumari haven't been seen much since Smith (ex British Council West India director) was posted to Cairo earlier this year.

Now, however, Viveka will make her Mumbai comeback, if only in spirit. This 'global nomad' is launching a line of home furnishings in the city on Saturday, as lifestyle store Palate officially opens its new design floor above the existing shop in Mahalaxmi.

Having already designed and furnished homes in four continents, Viveka 'truly enjoys developing products that merge traditional weave with contemporary demands'. But more than anything, it seems Viveka enjoys her own home and family, believing 'the home to be the heart of all life'.

That perhaps explains why she isn't leaving her home in Cairo to be here as the line goes on display this week…
