astha and anokhi has received contempt and humiliation from the sabs...and it's a different story that both the women don't give two hoots to the sabs....the only factor connecting them to sabs is shaurya (not including Shaan)

....CV's background of Astha's exit from SM and further life in very contradicting....

First we were shown..astha willingly moving out on her own..inspite of sabs asking her to stay or taking away shaurya...she went for her parents....

During anokhi's admission..astha shaan library scene...she told this...there are many children who grow up without both parents and shaurya still had big family..so her absence is not an issue...

But during shaurya's b'day outburst..astha told she was thrown out of sabharwal mansion and she use to wait hours before the house...she didn't willingly leave the house...

May be they changed the narrative to turn astha into a helpless mother ?

It was really confusing...

personally i wish shaurya moves out of sabharwal house...with anokhi...

It's really impossible to live in a place where..you have received so much humiliation from the people there....

The Shaan Aastha library conversation is the root of all misconceptions regarding Aastha character. It was very badly handled. I say this as a viewer of the OG. It seems they plainly wrote it down without giving much thoughts to the character.

If Aastha was so aloof she would have never wanted to talk to Shaurya or come back to his life. She would have moved on with her life like her past was a closed chapter. But it was not. She had Shaurya's pictures in her home. She wrote in her diary about him saying she was waiting for the day when her son would understand her sacrifice.

As per the one fb scene, Aastha tried to reason with Tej but he was adamant. She asked Shaan to make him understand who only asked Tej to find a solution. He didn't ask Tej to let Aastha work. It seemed like Tej would decide her parents' fate. When Aastha said that her parents meant something for Shaan too then he asked her to understand that the traditions being followed since ages cannot be changed. She then asked him if he supported her, he didn't answer. Aastha was cornered. She had no support in that house. She had no option but to leave so she decided to take Shaurya along. But Tej said they can't let Shaurya struggle with her in a difficult life. He apparently threatened her with court case. Aastha while leaving said she would fight till the end for her son. Then we don't know what happened to make her back out.

During library conversation Shaan said he would have found a solution but she was in a hurry to leave. This made her look like a selfish irresponsible stubborn woman. But perhaps Aastha had no faith in Shaan that he would be able to find a solution that would be agreeable to her. Her saying children grow up fine without mothers was perhaps her justification for choosing her parents over Shaurya. Though it didn't suit the character here. If she thought that way she should have kept away from him and never expect to be back in his life. This was a line directly copied from the OG but that Aastha never wanted to come back. She in fact asked her son to assume that she was dead.

Aastha's character is quite inconsistent. It seems they were trying to experiment with her. Perhaps they never intended to show her in a negative light but her treatment of Shaurya antagonized viewers so in the Birthday track they made her look a sacrificial helpless woman.

IMO it would have been best if they showed that she fought a custody battle and lost because of the power of Sabharwals or withdrew when she found it was causing lot of trauma to Shaurya.

Yes...very inconsistent writing...she could have shown that she didn't drag it to court..as she didn't want shaurya to go throw trauma of court and custody battle...she gave up as shaurya was with his father and family where he will be brought up in luxury...

But in the beginning..they made astha very indifferent and then post she got shot..she was all a helpless mother..

I guess her being indifferent to Shaurya initially to her begging his attention was result of near-death experience and realizing that Shaurya was probably there when she was hospitalized...

But her dialogues and flashback are definitely inconsistent... Even if we compare what Gayatri told Kanchan about Astha and her dealing with Saberwals...

So, from what I gather... Makers are trying to show 😆 is that Astha loved Shaurya and Shaan but was made to leave due to circumstances and they filled Shaurya with hatred against Astha for decisions she took...

I guess makers are now modifying their story to fit how Anokhi is different... Even if contradicts their earlier narratives...

This is what i don't like about this show...the character inconsistencies are huge..it confuses us so much....removes the connection...🤪

@bold: I actually did not like how they made her so indifferent initially. I wish she had shown a bit more emotions on seeing her son after so long, at least some pain and guilt should have been there. I thought perhaps the problem was with the actress but later realised she emotes quite well. That means something was wrong with the writing and direction.

Neither did I like the suddenly helpless, sacrificial, grovelling Aastha. Pata nahi what they were trying to do with her character, especially wrt Shaurya.

They really need to work on her character.
