I stan Vishal Bhardwaj for life! His music is underrated.

Saif was brilliant though, to be fair, Othello was always the weaker character compared to Iago and Desdemona.

Iago is one of literature's great villains - fascinating as a duplicitous calculating black hole of humanity. Othello requires a nuanced and towering performance to make his mark against him.

But London Dreams belongs to Salman. And though this becomes a problem for Devgn in the film and he plots to ruin him, there is precious little he can do about it in the theatres. One of the characters say about Salman in the film, "He's not a better talent, he's got adaa (style)". And that kind of sums it up.

You may like London Dreams for its beautiful frames, some paisa-vasool moments between Salman and Devgn, a good background score and catchy songs. For the rest, you need willing suspension of disbelief. And large doses of it.

The earlier comment in this thread is true about villians outshining the actor when both roles are played by mainstream actors. But I was just thinking about how Ajay got overshadowed even when he played a "villain" role in Khakee 😆

Good point there (Taking nothing away from Saif's Langa Tyagi - he was phenomenal). There are so many such examples of this

Gabbar in Sholay rivals Jai-Veeru-Thakur

Mr. India might as well be called Rise of Mogambo

Dhoom series, where thieves are bigger than the cops

Agneepath remake, where Rauf Lala and Kancha Cheena are as memorable as Vijay Deenanath Chauhan

Ashutosh Rana in Dushman *chills*

I am sure there are many more

Not surprising - Ajay tends to get quite one note with his "intense" roles in the few good movies he does. Don't get me wrong - he is a good actor. But just doesn't have the stage presence to lift the role to the next level, except on a few rare occasions. As a result he gets shown up by good actors who are more spontaneous and natural

Whenever he tries out and out massy roles, he just falters imo. Tanhaji is the latest example - he looked so lost and confused in that movie. Nothing like a grand warrior which he was supposed to be portraying

Happened in Darr as well.

Happens everytime. Negative roles just garner more attention even though they are so much easier to play with author backed dialogues, Over the top assertions, flared nostrils and all.

Suniel Shetty in Dhadkan, PC in Aitraaz, SRK in Darr, John in Dhoom, Ranveer in Padmavat are all inferior actors to Akshay , Kareena,Sunny, Abhishek, Shahid IMO and there's tons more.

Yes Saif was good. It's notable that it's happened with Ajay Devgan the most. In Company it was Viviek Oberoi, in OUATIM it was Emraan Hashmi and in Omkara its Saif.

It's commendable that Ajay Devgan is fine with other characters getting better roles despite him being the bigger star.

Their is no way that Hashmi was better than Devgn in OUATIM

And I liked Devgan more than Vivek in Company
