I believe it's Ashok Kumar. He gave break to new talents Lata Mangeshkar and Madhubala in his India's first ever suspense thriller and super hit movie Mahal 1949. He was a superlative actor with great acting in the movie. The music of this movie is quite haunting as well as the movie story. Both Lata and Madhu Bala became overnight stars and ruled Indian Cinema.
