The Family that Eats Together....

I couldn't stop myself from making a post today. The episode today, made me teary. Emotional but in a good way. Most often we are too busy in our lives to sit and eat together and the way Yaadon ki Baarat was done was sheer perfection.

This is the reason right here that I started this show, Kinshuk might have had something to do with it too.

No family is perfect but you do your best. That's exactly what Raavi did today. ShiVi put their differences aside and participated in the rasoi rasam with good intent and it was seen and appreciated by none other then Gaumbi. I pitied Rishita today, she has no clue what she's missing out on.

I got nostalgic watching as I moved to Canada from Fiji all by myself when I was 25. I missed my family, so very much and my best friend and her parents stepped in. I'm a Hindu and she's Muslim and yet, I got married from their house. They are my parents in every sense of the way and I love them just as much.

This episode reminded me that life without family is pretty sucky! That is why I felt pity for Rishita. That is who Gaumbi reminded me of today. Gautam Pandya is hats off the best brother/Dad figure on ITV right now.

Shiva looking on proudly at his wife was another amazing scene. You may fight but good people with good intentions manage to shine through and that's exactly what Raavi did. A family isn't perfect but the togetherness and love keeps you glued. Family doesn't only mean blood, Raavi is family by marriage and she's going to receive and shower just as much love on the Pandya Family!!

Thanks for reading!! I got pretty emotional. You know you've hit a jackpot when a fictional show makes you miss your family. Covid hasn't help, haven't been able to hug my family in over a year now. Fingers crossed that sometime in the very near future, I would be able to.

So, hold on to your families.

....and with that, I'm done. Thanks for reading!!

lovely post Namita.. i'm glad you were able to find a family away from home 🤗

i moved away too so i know how it feels!

the pandya family is indeed precious and raavi got a chance to be part of it today ❤️

rishita is seriously missing out.. she never understood the value of family due to her upbringing and dev is doing a shitty job explaining to her about it 🤪

i feel bad sometimes for her.. also for the fact that i preferred that moment without her..

Oh Namiii 🤗

This post is just as beautiful as that scene. Loved the little anecdotes from your life.❤️

Coming to that feeding scene, all of it was beautiful. From Raavi realizing her value in their life, from Shiva looking on as a proud husband who's wife cares and respects his family just as much as he does, to Raavi making that gesture to ensure Gaumbi does not go hungry. And she used her rightful place in the family to convince him to eat which Shiva and Krish followed.❤️

And I definitely give credit to Kinshuk here. No one could have done justice to Gaumbi's role better than him. He is the perfect man of the house. Look forward to him spreading his wisdom to the the younger generation to keep this family always glued together.

PS. He almost reminded me of Alok Nath's character in HSSH and you made post with that title. ❤️❤️

P.p.s. Rishita will have to take that first step and she'll be drowned in all the love that the family will shower upon her!

You know, I absolutely don't understand how Dev failed to tell Rishita about his family! He wanted to marry her so why not talk about family. It's only natural.

I do pity Rishita but like you, I preferred the moment without her! She doesn't understand the value of it yet and I feel if they included her, she would have ruined the essence of it all.

Absolutely!! No one could play Gaumbi like Kinshuk does. I love him. We don't get too many such beautiful family bonding on shows so I appreciate this one tenfold!!

I do believe, Rishita will make matters worse before realization creeps in. Dev definitely isn't getting through.

What a lovely post!

I'd be lying if I said it didn't stir alot of sentiments in me.

As much as I love PS and ShiVi, I know it's just a show, that too an ITV one. I try to make sense of characters because I love discussions and analysing things. It's just how I am. But ultimately I know not to look for realism in the characters or storyline.

Today was abit different for me. Though I haven't watched the full episode yet, I've seen those precious scenes. I couldn't help but think of my dad throughout them. You see my dad was always the soft one in my family, and fed me and my two siblings like this from time to time, especially when we're angry or busy. And yes I cried (which is shocking because I'm not the type to show how I feel). I even remembered the last time I did this for him, and how I won't be able to do it anymore.

I come from a tight knit family, my mum's very open with us, no subject is off topic and has given us the freedom to do what we want with our lives. But I love that we choose each other no matter what. I felt like I saw that in PS today. I know plenty who make fun of things like this and think it's cringe, fair enough, but I freaking love this show ❤.

Hope his talk with Gaumbi will make him see some sense.

This is my first show of Kinshuk, so didn't know how he'd be. But he nailed it and is such a fatherly figure in their lives. In fact, this is my first time watching all of the cast members and they all have won my heart!

I was so emotional watching this episode! it was exactly as you said one of the reasons why I love this show so much.

Namii di, I'm so happy you were able to find a family away from your own family. They truly, no matter how much they might fight, do bring some type of happiness to our lives. I can't say that I truly ever moved away but I was by myself when I was in college and so I can definitely say that it was heartbreaking to spend many birthdays and holidays/festivals by myself or over facetime because I couldn't make it home. SO, this did hit pretty hard, being away makes you realize and value your family even more.

The actors themselves did such an amazing job with this scene. I can't imagine I would have had the same reaction if I didn't connect to their characters so much.

The Hum Saath Saath Hain reference in the title was a beautiful touch. probably one of my favorite movies ever.

exactly.. she can be part of later once she understands the value of these moments not now

otherwise her irritated/eye rolling expressions would have ruined it all

@bold - Same sentiments, Sofia!! I absolutely adore this show. This is crazy as I usually laugh off things and go hey, it's ITV. This one touched a nerve!
