Never hear such news about star kids. Are we made to believe that star kids don’t throw tantrums and neither are unprofessional like outsiders?

About fees hike, in movie industry people are paid based on their market value. That’s why it’s called fees and not salary for an actor.

If market value falls for an actor, they are paid lesser or chucked out of a movie.

The reverse would be true as well.

Just like KJo hiked fees of Varun Dhavan in 2017 when Varun’s market value went up.

It could be ....but atleast it is better than the ridiculous reasons some came up with ..that KJo will take a loss of 20 cr and throw Kartik out just because Kartik-Jhanvi broke up...😆

Lol. in this very thread multiple people have already mentioned the well published story of Kareena being thrown out of KHNH. What else you want to hear?

This is not new that actors demand in hike of their pay in middle of movie when their market value increased... I heard such things before in film industry...

It is professional or unprofessional that is another debate ...

I did not find anything wrong in asking in pay raise based on karthik market value.. and yes I have read articles about pay cut due to actors dropped in demand...

Film industry is completely different ball game compared to other cooperate industries... KJO knows this but I feel here his ego got hurt due to some reasons and decided to highlight karthik asking for pay raise as a big issue...

Karthik demand for pay raise is not wrong according to me...

Fees are set when you sign the contract. Period. If the film bombs or is a great success the fees are the same. They're only different if you negotiated a back end % and that's purely based on film performance not a change in popularity. If your market value goes up or down it's reflected in the next film you sign.

Case in point of a huge change in popularity after signing contracts:

Hrithik signed Fiza for 50k rupees (a pittance) and Mission Kashmir for 11 lahks (less than Preity an established actress even though his role was bigger). After KHNP opened he was getting offers of 2cr+ a film. He was getting crores for ads. He not only still completed the other films for the agreed fees but he also did additional scenes that were added to take advantage of his popularity. Producers made a mint off those films (even if distributors did not because fees went sky high for them) - HR didn't get one rupee over the original contracts.

How is it one-sided?? When article states that kjo promised Karthik another movie and then replace him without informing that does not looks very good for dharma.
