FF.net idk I could never find the one I wanted, lead pair was all over the place. Ao3 filtering especially tags like character death, au are cool.

Mine was mostly HP related.
So livejournal yes, and apart from FF.net and Ao3, there used to be a bunch of others that I've frequented- Fictionalley, HPFanFiction, Portkey, SIYE, DLP, HPFanficarchive, Fanficauthors, Ficwad to name a few.
Most of these I think have disappeared or aren't updated- not surprising given the slowdown in HP writing.
So these days it's mostly FF.net and Reddit HPfanfiction with the odd trip to Ao3 for some exclusives on that site. But stories are terrible these days- you need to probably go through 100 rubbish ones to find that one gem that's really, really good. Even reviews or views aren't a guarantee of a well written story.
