I for one am rooting to see how the girls put aside their differences and come together to live amicably. Rishita is the perfect match for Dev in the sense, she would say the words which Dev for the life of him could never say it. She is insensitive as she has lived the privileged life, but I am interested to see how Raavi and Rishita make space for each other and live together.

Raavi brings the joy and happiness in Shiva's life. He puts people in their place without batting an eyelid. In the sense, I would also like to see how Rishita develops a bond with the other brothers in the house.

I hope they do not turn Rishita into a Vamp. That would really be the end of the show for me.

For me, I would like to see Rishita grow into a much more sensitive person maybe borrow that quality from Dhara and Raavi. Raavi to grow up to see the real world - so far she has been in the dreamland where she and Dev were supposed to be the ultimate couple. She could see that she would have to fight for her rights and opinions - learn that from Rishita.

Dhara to not be the sacrificial lamb, being accomodating is one thing. Letting go of oneself is another. I feel Dhara has been pushed to the other end. I am hoping these 2 girls show that and Dhara picks that from them.

Hello guys! I am new here. I hope I can join you. 😊

I wasn't a regular viewer of PS. Watched the wedding episodes out of curiosity and I genuinely want Rishita's character to be flawed/grey because that's more realistic and interesting.

Good luck with that. Our hindi show writers don't know what grey is. I have seen several amazing characters that started out as grey but they either turned positive or villian. Best example of this is Maya from beyhadh 1.0 season 1. To this day she is the best grey character I have seen and in season 2 of beyhadh 1.0, they turned her into a villian.

I mean no disrespect for Dhara's character but she is too good to be true and the typical good FL.

Raavi - I felt really bad for her situation but otherwise I don't get the hype regarding her character.

Raavi has an innocence to her character which brings a certain charm to it and her chemistry with Shiva is fireworks since day 1.

Whereas Rishita actually seemed to have a proper story. Everybody in the household is too hang up on Dhara's sacrifices and Raavi but they hardly acknowledge what Dev or Rishita might be feeling.

They do mention her sacrifices because she did them and the biggest one is yet to be known by dev, krish, Suman and rest of the world. She faced a lot from the society due to that. I would say hung up is an incorrect word here. They all choose to never forget that because they love and respect her so much. Without her they would have lost pandya stores long time ago and probably in financial troubles. Imagine that with three kids and an disabled mother. Dhara knew about how dev was feeling and she tried to do something about it and in return she lost her self respect and was humiliated very badly. What more is she suppose to do?

It's very easy for Shiva or Krish to judge Dev because they don't have any other priority in their lives as of now. But Dev was torn between his priorities. He tried his best to avoid this situation even call off this wedding to save Raavi and still everything backfired.

Shiva and krish saw how everyone blamed dhara and insulted her because it was dev who decided to marry raavi and then back out at the last moment just because he lacked a spine and conviction to stand by his own decision. What efforts did he pht to call off the wedding other than cry to dhara? Did he bother to talk to raavi? That is what i would call a real effort. He misled raavi for so long too. He didn't bother to open his mouth and clarify everything before the wedding so he doesn't deserve to be justified as he had ample chances to clear things out with raavi. He left her at the mandap. I dont think there is any worse humiliation for a girl who is about to get married.

In all this Rishita faced the most. She was being threatened constantly at her house, took a huge risk when she eloped and held her ground when her father came to the mandap.

Dev being concerned for Dhara is legitimate but in another sense, he could come thrash Janardhan for his Vabi but couldn't even stand before him when Rishita constantly urged him to - any girl would feel devastated by it.

I agree that rishita faced a lot at her house but that doesnt justify her selfish nature. She loves dev but her love for him is quite selfish as she doesn't care what happens to anyone around her. To me it looks more like an obsession rather than love. She is so selfish that she blamed everything on dhara when she came to her house to talk about dev and her wedding. She has no sense of morality or sensitivity. Now she was busy taunting and hurting raavi just to show that dev is hers. I mean raavi was not even doing anything. Also she has been constantly insulting dhara just because she is mad at him due to dev's immense love and attachment towards dhara.

Makers are trying too hard to portray her as negative with this room fiasco and insulting Raavi but the girl has actually gone through much worse than anybody is giving her credit for. Looking at how another remake at SP is hell bent on turning a rather grey character into a pathetic villain, I am scared for Rishita.

They are not trying to too hard to portray her negative. She is still grey as she is still that same spoilt selfish, insensitive, rich girl who doesn't know what the word adjust means as she never had to. She wants dev's entire focus and love for herself only as she wants to be his ultimate priority. That is why she is unable to digest dev prioritizing dhara in the past. Her actions now are consistent with the way her character started out. I mean her own dad got thrashed black and blue by Shiva and dev himself and she didn't even bat an eye about that. Instead she was busy lamenting how this puts a wrinkle in her plans to marry dev. As a daughter, I was expecting some reaction on that. Anyways, at this point makers still have ample chances to keep her grey as she hasn't done anything yet to be called a villian. Her actions now are consistent with who she is as a person. So let's see what happens.

But I really hope some miracle happens and makers stick to the original as mentioned by you guys. 😊

I think they had the potential to show some depth in rishitas character but they made her be so not so self aware. She seems to be shown to have some sort of tunnel vision regarding dev. Also it didnt help her family is so goonish lol like if they had made her mom more sympathetic to her love maybe we could feel for her situation but it was ridiculous them threatening to kill dev lol Dev couldnt stand up for his 2 year gf or stop leading raavi on coz he def knew she had romantic feelings for him but he can go beat up rishitas dad lol

Rishita blaming all this on dhara is wrong too, like dhara didnt try to help dev and its not like rishitas family would have agreed to marry her to dev even if there was no raavi in the picture. She might be brave for her love but she is also very borderline obsessed with dev like when she was saying he cant be anyone else's lol her constant need to mark her territory over dev to raavi makes her seem really petty and its very one dimensional the cvs are not doing any favors to the character or giving her any depth. Also the lack of self awareness after the wedding like girl read the room no one is happy here lol she cant even understand it. When we see other couples in other shows having to elope and then dealing with the family you dont see this kind of behavior lol on top she is acting all insecure about raavi she just told her she doesnt want dev move on lol

If they tone down her immature behavior and maybe let her bond with the other gals in the house it would be better, coz dev is seriously useless at times lol

Morally grey characters are still a novelty in ITV especially morally grey female lead . For most series it’s either sati savitri or straight up vamp. So no I do not have high hopes.

I agree.

May be. I would praise the actors more for their craft here. Otherwise she is too chirpy for my taste.

Dhara isn't supposed to do anything here. I mentioned it too. She is just too good and it's not realistic.

Shiva and krish saw how everyone blamed dhara and insulted her because it was dev who decided to marry raavi and then back out at the last moment just because he lacked a spine and conviction to stand by his own decision. I agree. I was happy when Dev said Raavi won't be happy with him but I expected him to stand by his word. It was okay when he beat Janardhan for Dhara's insult but it was definitely not okay to leave Rishita or stay mum to Raavi.

About Shiva and Krish, they are bound to feel hurt for Dhara but that doesn't mean they don't realize the gravity of the situation. Look at Gautam. He managed everything on his own. Defended Dhara in front of Suman and then patched up with her too. Just because they love and respect Dhara it doesn't mean they have to squander everyone else's wishes. Even before the wedding took place, Shiva constantly guilt-tripped Dev for loving Rishita. I would love to see his reaction if situation was reversed. He is a good BIL but he was awful to Dev ever since the revelation happened.

Definitely! That's why I said makers should have stick to a more grey/realistic character than making her creating issues out of small things and her blind hatred for Dhara.

They are not trying to too hard to portray her negative. That's the only ray of hope here. She can either evolve or resort to cheap gimmicks. It's on the makers how they utilize her character.

I enjoyed all the different perspective on characters shown in this show,

Here is my view.

Dhara: She is too good to exist in real life so connecting with her is little difficult. She can sacrifice for her family and every women does that at one point of life but she needs to stand up for herself and defend herself instead of remaining mahaan all the time. All FLs in drama are same like Dhara always be a mahaan to her family.

Raavi: She does faced humiliation in front of all people. She definitely lives in lala land. Dev just supported her when Shiva misbehaves or manhandles her but Dev never once told her that he loved her nor made efforts to call all these years. How can someone be naĆÆve that Dev have feeling for her without he never indulged in any type of romance or promise even a mere phone call all these years. It is indeed a single sided love. I felt sad for her state that wedding stopped at the end moment but glad it did as it is single sided love and she just lives in lala land so coming back to reality is much needed.

Rishita: She is true to her love no matter who is against it be it her family or Dev's family. Adjustment to middle class lifestyle is not a easy thing as people think that love is only needed not lifestyle as per all serials shows. In reality, it is not true as lifestyle does play a huge role in day to day life. Rishita antics kind of irritating as of now but her requirement are not. People just lost their focus in love same like Rishita as her focus is just Dev and his love but reality hits hard and the social status as well as financial needs that might make her realize is that love all worth it as Dev never any efforts for her love. The above part is shown beautifully in original version hope they use in Hindi version too Even Raavi asked Dhara that she might get Dhara room as being a new bride so materialistic requirement comes to every person life. Hope Rishita character develops into a realistic one as it has great potential instead a complete vamp.

Dev: He is the most confused person in the serial till date in hindi as well as original version. He should be more vocal about his feelings to his family as well as to Raavi from the beginning when she was doing the Dev jaap. His efforts for his love is zero but makes others to put efforts for him. I don't understand him begging Dhara to do something instead of doing something for his love as he knows about Rishita family. Also he is sending his Bhabhi alone to Rishita house. Does this guy care for anyone? be it Rishita, Raavi, or his Bhabhi. I still don't get his character at all. I believe that writers done a bad job in writing his character.

Shiva: I understand that he respects and cares for his brother and Bhabhi a lot. But he manhandles two women till date such as Raavi and Mami. How can I connect with someone who misbehaves or manhandles women that kind of made his character worse. People might like his character is different and actor might play it well too but I can't connect with a person who mishandles women that too from childhood. I agree that Mami is shown as vamp but he argue well with words or intelligent conversation but manhandling is bad!

Gambhi: He is someone, you can easily connect with as she speaks for his wife, takes care his family and his brothers. He does have some flaws but he is kind of realistic character. Also shown as a good business sense person.

Krish: His dialogues are on point as well as his antics are enjoyable. Hope he gets more screen space as the actor does plays his role well.

I love all the characters! Yes, they are not perfect but that’s what makes them so interesting. Some are too good to be true and others with so many flaws but I kinda expected that. After seeing so many Indian serials I have realized that eventually it’s less realistic and more for entertainment. So to me it’s like reading books, it’s all fantasy, nothing to do with real life. After that it’s so much fun to watch. Just pure fun nonsense to take my mind off of real life. With that, I like Rishita character, she’s annoying in some parts but that’s fine. I understand her point of view. Shiva’s manhandling can also be annoying but it doesn’t bother me much. In real life if someone did that I wouldn’t tolerate it. At all. But since it’s not real, I’m not that bothered by it. Maybe in the future they will tone it down or get it rid of it. Either way I love that guys acting and his chemistry with Raavi. Enemies to lovers are my favorite trope!! lol

hope I don’t offended anyone with my opinion. That wasn’t my intention at all. Just wanted to share my thoughts! Hope everyone has an amazing day!!

Btw, if there is a realistic show out there please recommend me the name!! I would add it to my TBW list!

I don't think guilt-tripped is the right word. Because shiva was just stating facts about what that family has done to their family and by being with raavi dev was basically opening doors for that family to step in their life. Shiva is very protective of people he loves and he doesn't forgive or forget people who hurt his loved ones easily. Even today he doesn't like that family. He is quiet and even participated nicely in wedding preparations due to his family. If you are talking about revelation of his relationship to raavi, he was just direct in expressing his displeasure. If you are talking about rishita revelation then he was simply pointing out dev's mistakes where he misled raavi and dragged their whole family in a sh!tstorm. What dev was going through was his own doing so giving him support and telling him everything is ok would be a lie. Even right now what dev is going through is because of his own silence and lack of courage. I am not into good two shoes itv FL like dhara but I don't like rishita either as she also lived and still lives in her dreamland where just her and dev exists. Her behavior after marriage or before marriage is similar to that of a mental patient who has OCD. There is nothing relatable about her love for dev. She doesn't even see the need to respect dev's family or try to build a relationship with them. She doesn't need to be mahaan but in real life newly married woman do not create a ruckus and try their best to build a good relationship. She doesn't see anything past dev. She went through a lot because of her egoistic father and that is not a justification for her actions now. So far squandering wishes are concerned, I don't think except dev, anyone in pandya family would want a dil like rishita who doesn't understand words like adjustment, compromise, respect etc. This is a joint family in india not USA. They accepted rishita for dev not because she was their choice for dev. I am not sure what writers are planning to do with rishita but at the moment there is nothing positive about her.

I read in Gupta Brothers - which was another Hindi remake of Pandian Stores, the character of Rishita was turned into positive and fierce.

That's my only hope. They already have Mami and Janardhan. They don't need to turn Rishita into negative.

me Fine šŸ™‚ how's you 😊

Hope Rishita Change with time being adjusting in PS Fam towards positive form šŸ˜› rather filling Villains space which enough with her Dad n Aunt 😈
