If Rishita's character arc actually follows how it works inthe original Tamil version then it is actually a very interesting character !!

Yes she's immature yes she fights yes she's aamir baap ki beti but her love for dev's character is unconditional !!

There are many instances where she actually fights for the family stands by them . She's helps the chottu brothers character so much ! Infact her and the last son are supposed to be the comic relief of the show

But knowing Hindi serials this may not be happening

Hindi serial Cvs love their villainous women I think

I feel most of them cannot really comprehend what Grey is

I for one would love to see this.

I hope they go that route. You don't always have to have a vamp in a show.

Anyone watched baa bahoo aur baby years ago? The first season was popular, all characters had their flaws, but no one was a villian. It was hilarious and probably more true to reality than typical ITV shows. Wish all characters are like that in this house and no one's really a villian. If you need one then Janardhan can be the only one. Not even Mami. I am starting to like her comic avatar. Can't see her going vampish and plotting schemes to steal their show. She can always be seen as someone who runs after money, but not like crossing lines. Ykwim?

Hello guys! I am new here. I hope I can join you. 😊

I wasn't a regular viewer of PS. Watched the wedding episodes out of curiosity and I genuinely want Rishita's character to be flawed/grey because that's more realistic and interesting.

I mean no disrespect for Dhara's character but she is too good to be true and the typical good FL.

Raavi - I felt really bad for her situation but otherwise I don't get the hype regarding her character.

Whereas Rishita actually seemed to have a proper story. Everybody in the household is too hang up on Dhara's sacrifices and Raavi but they hardly acknowledge what Dev or Rishita might be feeling.

It's very easy for Shiva or Krish to judge Dev because they don't have any other priority in their lives as of now. But Dev was torn between his priorities. He tried his best to avoid this situation even call off this wedding to save Raavi and still everything backfired.

In all this Rishita faced the most. She was being threatened constantly at her house, took a huge risk when she eloped and held her ground when her father came to the mandap.

Dev being concerned for Dhara is legitimate but in another sense, he could come thrash Janardhan for his Vabi but couldn't even stand before him when Rishita constantly urged him to - any girl would feel devastated by it.

Makers are trying too hard to portray her as negative with this room fiasco and insulting Raavi but the girl has actually gone through much worse than anybody is giving her credit for. Looking at how another remake at SP is hell bent on turning a rather grey character into a pathetic villain, I am scared for Rishita.

But I really hope some miracle happens and makers stick to the original as mentioned by you guys. 😊

Welcome Nushy

frankly I don’t think Hindi TRPs have ever done a good job with grey characters.
someone mentioned baa baby, but I think that’s a rare case

It’s not just trp, I feel Hindi Cvs don’t really put much effort because they tend to dumb down the women a lot.

Frankly I am not holding my breath.

As for Raavi, I think she touches a chord because she is bubbly, energetic and quite innocent

So she represents the other positive which is different from Dhara

In fact she looks up to Dhara

Hindi Cvs are very comfortable writing such women

It’s a pity but it’s true

Her chemistry with Shiva is out of the park so that helps to bring younger viewers

It also helps that the actors are doing a decent job.

Thanks dear!

I agree. I have hardly seen any properly written grey character in ITV. Even the ones that start with promise eventually turn into pitch black characters.

So I too kind am kind of ready to be disappointed.

About Raavi and Shiva - I had the same opinion. It's too easy to write and it's a tried and tested formula with hot-headed ML and chirpy FL. When the actors are good - it adds a different flavor.

Otherwise, personally I don't like this type of pairing.

Gautam and Dhara are far better in terms of their simplicity and mutual respect. Just stating my opinion. 😊

Hello Vinnas! 😊 Hope you are doing fine.

I read about the original in WiKi. Plus other members did mention the original Rishita was grey whereas pretty much in all the adaptations she was turned into a vamp.

I read in Gupta Brothers - which was another Hindi remake of Pandian Stores, the character of Rishita was turned into positive and fierce.

That's my only hope. They already have Mami and Janardhan. They don't need to turn Rishita into negative.

It would be nice if they don’t turn Rishita completely negative.. Its better to learn and follow her journey from Brat to Bahu.

her Father or any new Villain will do.

I also don’t feel Mami is a Vamp... I like her :)
