It seems like Ankita fell into the pattern that a LOT of young women, especially South Asian women do. She thought, well I can see myself marrying this man, so he should be my first priority. Instead of focusing on her own life, she made herself and her ambition small, so she could make SSR feel big. But then when you do that there’s naturally some resentment, even if it is mostly subconscious. So then she wanted more commitment from him, while he’s wondering where the independent woman he loved went, and who this clingy person is. In the end that made him end the relationship and that’s why she resents him still on some level even today, even though she loves him.
The complicated factor in all of this is how she acted as though she knew best, even years after they broke up, when he died. She contributed to the shaming and harassment of Rhea as a gold digger, when really it seems like Rhea was also ambitious and SSR probably liked that. She made comments on his mental state as though they were frequently in touch, and completely disregarded the dangerous actions of his family while painting Rhea as a villain and herself as someone who lost the love of her life. Now it just seems like since the sympathy has died down she’s bringing up a dead man for attention. And that may not be the case, but it’s a really bad look.
