Somehow Tej is going to derail it to Shagun.

I think it's more like subconsciously they so don't want it to be Anokhi that their mind plays games with them and gives them an easy alternative.

Tej specifically was made to give in to Shaan Astha by Devi. I think he was never in full favour of that. He doesn't want the same to be repeated with Shaurya and hence wants to think it's Shagun.
