They have ruined it. Erased the whole generation.
Should gave shown how they struggled and survived and started from scratch in Amrister or Delhi.
I do not find it worth watching anymore.😢😡😠

Thanks for sharing! Yes, there are many missed opportunities which could have boosted up the narrative and made the show more meaningful, but they were not explored. I dont mean simply the deaths of the elder generation, they atleast had some reason, but the lack of seriousness of the Partition violence. Mogar, KB, Bhanu, Raizadas disseappeared into nowhere.
They grappled with themes like kidnapping, forced conversion, religious affirmation and discrimination (including tatoo) and made it seem like a mockery, even though no doubt the cast and crew put their heart and soul into it. Unless they do pay attention to those to survived and explore the situation in refugee camps, there is no need for leaps and samosas with lost context. I did not sign up for this 🙏
I agree, there was no need to kill the older generation.
During partition people were fleeing to India/Pakistan and not staying in their city to die there. They were worried about their families.
People ended up in refugee camps from where they built their lives.
I found the part where Lalaji and Rajrani decided to die in Lahore silly, who leaves their children in such tumultuous times to die in their beloved city?
Brij was understandable, he died to save Uday.
Seriously there was no need to kill the entire senior generation.
Instead they could have showed, their struggle in the refugee camps and how once again they build their lives from scartch.the older generation coming to terms with changing times and the younger lot how they not only fulfill their own dreams but also support the elders
The old charm of the show is gone now.
And a stupid Love triangle is going to be shown

Even if they want to show love triangle.... show...we won't mind it if they show it in a better way instead of directly jumping to post leap..i.e. showing all their struggles in India..separately independent of each other... showing how they established themselves from scratch again at new place (amrit being social worker, RR being journalist or politician...Uday...hockey player...vashma kathak dancer etc..., how they are surviving in this difficult phase without each other and still establishing themselves.
After this, they can move onto...the samosa track if it is so adorable to them....we won't mind it then..if they show struugle behind it...instead of backshadowing struggles in name of leap
yes we want to see each of the fav 5 s struggle and how they succeed. partition ke naam par we got this Farooq drama ,and post partition samosa.

I hope they do justice to each of the fav 5 now,and not leave most of the things to viewers imagination
It was to create the tensed situation with Bhanu now being head of the family and it will make things tough for Vashmay since Bhanu did not like Baigs that much
I am disappointed, there was no need to kill Lala ji & Rajrani Mogar yes. They should have shown family struggle getting to India under pressure to make it realistic for audience. Their surviving in refuge camp & how they succeed, killing was un necessary spoilt the plot.
I think there is two reasons why they did that and honestly both kind of make sense.
Looking it from a serial perspective, the show timing has gone from 45 minutes to 20ish minutes. They used to have 45 minutes to show all the characters. With less time, the CVs probably decided they needed to get rid of some characters to do justice to others. Most people are invested in Amrit, Randhir, Uday, Vashma, and Radha. So it makes sense to get rid of the other characters around them.
Now from an emotional and character perspective, and the more important perspective, at least according to me. Let me tell you a personal story first. My Mamaji and mother and their other two siblings have all grown up in this house. A house that my Nanaji built from scratch. Mamaji has lived in that house for something like 40-45 years easily. A few years ago, after my cousin got married and moved to a different city, he started to ask Mamaji to come live with him. But Mamaji refused and his whole point is - I've grown up in this house. All my emotions are with this house. I've helped my father build it and develop it and grow it. How can I leave this place behind? Now he doesn't have any partition or riots or violence trying to push him out of the house. It's just his own son wanting him to come live with him and spend time with his children. But he refuses. It's not like he'll never see his house again. But seeing it from the outside, is not the same as living in it. Heck in the 20 something years that I remember, they haven't even changed the interiors or furniture of the house. Every time I go back, the house is exactly as is.
Now look at that from Lalaji's perspective. That man either built that haveli from scratch or grew up in it and then started his own family there. In either case, he has decades of memories and emotions with that place. And unlike my Mamaji who could easily go back and visit his old house even after selling it, Lalaji can't do that. In hindsight, sure we can say it would be easy to go back to Pakistan and see his old haveli. But in that moment, Lalaji didn't know that. He saw the riots and the violence and he didn't think he would ever be able to relive his memories or see his childhood, his children's childhood, etc. again. And he wasn't just being rooted from his house. He was being rooted from his homeland. I can only imagine the stress and emotions Lalaji was going through. Was it a smart decision? No. But sometimes you just end up listening to your heart. Kehte hain naa dil dimak pe havi ho gaya tha. That's exactly what happened with Lalaji. And Rajrani followed because she couldn't imagine a life without Lalaji. She had stood by Lalaji all her life. How could she move on? So she followed Lalaji back. And that was their death. Because in between the riots, only your clothes defined your religion. And Lalaji and Rajrani stood out like red in a crowd of black and white.
That doesn't mean that the older generation is completely finished. They still have Rab Rab Aunty. And Dr. Baig and his wife as well. The focus could be on showing how Rab Rab Aunty has changed and becomes a mother to Amrit and Vashma, a friend to Radha, and a grandmother to Vashma and Uday's child. They could show the struggles of the family coming to trust Mogar because they've all seen Mogar's mean side, not her caring side. They could show how Mogar changes KB because honestly when they were escaping, KB didn't care one bit about anyone but herself. They could show the struggles of the children attempting to move on and start life afresh without any elders to guide them. They could show how Dr. Baig and his wife also move to India to be with their daughter and grandchild. There's a lot still to show. I don't like not having the older generation around at all, but somewhere it also makes sense.
What's the issue with Samosa? Sorry did not watch few episodes
