Till now whenever Aditya felt guilty or felt something for Imlie, they would show the recap of filling Imlie's maang with sindoor. This has been the case all along.

During the last 3 days, the shift in his mindset has been noticeable, as in he is reflecting on his shaadi with Malini that is now fake or unreal. He is in a mess, he is thinking of how to sambhalo that rishta with Malini which is becoming a burden, a zimmedaari now, that he underwent to keep Malini safe n healthy as she could not handle the truth.

Also in the hug scene, when Adi said that Imlie has a place in his heart, there was a deep breath let out by ST/Imlie as though she was waiting to hear his verdict on what their rishta is, what her place is in his life. When that was answered, it was like a weight lifted off her shoulders, the shared bond is indeed sacred to the both of them.

Another thing, I noticed was, couple of times anything significant happens in PD, Anu will always say something connected to it. Like, the logic thing for instance....

so, this episode, she says Aditya is having an affair... Maybe it is a gentle nod from the CVs that, even though, we as audience have been aware of it, that Aditya has emotionally been depended and involved with Imlie unconsciously for a while now. From now, maybe Aditya will consciously have an emotional affair with Imlie. Aditya and Imlie will not have a physical relation for a while, and he might even refrain from physically being close to Malini... so physically he might be loyal to both Imlie and Malini, but emotionally, he will get more involved with Imlie... From now on, he will consciously start seeking out Imlie for all of his emotional needs and turmoils. If he needs to talk to someone, share his worries, joy or anything, he will be seeking out Imlie knowing that he can have these conversations only with Imlie and only she will understand him, and that Malini won't.

We are aware that they are married, but Malini doesn't know that, and what hurts more than physical affair of your husband is that he is emotionally dependent on another woman. And maybe Malini will start noticing it once Imlie comes back to Tripathi house, making her more insecure which will lead to more arguments between Aditya and Malini, which will in turn push him towards Imlie more for some peace of mind.

Yep, this is where I also think it's going.....AC was used to bring out the insinuation of an affair today cuz that's how Adi-Imlie will get viewed by various characters until the truth of their marriage is revealed.

The complication likely will be that Imlie won't want to reveal the truth of their marriage cuz it will hurt her Malini didi....so she may be the one holding Adi back from revealing the truth to anyone even if they misunderstand his relationship with Imlie. This goes in line with the sacrificing nature of Imlie's character....she isn't running from the truth that their marriage is valid....but at the same time she doesn't want this truth to hurt others either so she will take the hurt upon herself and be determined to bear it all alone. How much Adi will let her do that is what remains to be seen.

I still wouldn't really term it an "affair" emotionally also. At the end of the day, Imlie is his wife....what he has essentially started to do is reciprocate emotionally to that relationship which is a valid one. An affair always implies something illicit. If we go by that logic, he was having an "affair" with Malini all this time too since he was responding to her as a husband despite being married to someone else too....but I didn't call that an affair either because both the relationships had grounding in terms of rituals.

I'm not sure if they can show Adi-Malini continuing their regular relationship from this point on...I'm expecting Adi to pull back from her physically in some form given the degree of this all consuming soulful connection he has been shown to realize with Imlie.......but then I wonder if he does that, how will Malini not create a huge hue and cry over it? lol.....so to what angle can he give her something to drag the relationship on even though his heart won't be in it....that remains to be seen.

I agree that he will keep seeking Imlie out emotionally since he feels that she is the only one who understands him and he can share everything with her.....Malini never really understood him to begin with but yes, she will definitely be insecure if she starts to notice the emotional tuning/understanding between Adi-Imlie in the coming time....and arguments would be inevitable then....but would Adi fall back in guilt or will he try to actually understand that this shows why him and Malini are incompatible.

But now that I think of it and watched the precap again she seems to haq se complain about not having a good enough outfit.. so wait does it mean adi might gift her something caz initially he is like tumhein kabse kapdon ki chinta hone lagi come out now and sounds irritated hahah but maybe this is building to him actually gifting her a sari for their outing

So beautiful the steps taken together, the intensity of feelings, the conversation in the hut. It's so surprising to see this kind of honesty in an iTV show!! These two characters - true to themselves and true to the other. So refreshing!! The way the plot is set up, honesty is the last thing that should come to our mind when we are talking about these characters. I forgot to quote this part in my earlier reply but I LOVED how you put this! And this is indeed what makes these two characters and their relationship so compelling to watch. They are both very simple/honest people who have become stuck in a very complicated/impossible situation in many ways which takes away their choices to be truthful.

I also meant to say this earlier but that is also part of why they have this old school vibe as a pair....the simplicity in both their characters....the fact that it's the simple things that attract them like moti rotis, apnapan, mitti, ....Adi was mesmerized by an Imlie who barely had any makeup on but it was like her simple beauty left him speechless and for the very first time, Adi lost his train of thought😆.....yeh toh V-day pe bhi nahin hua when he supposedly saw Malini all dressed up....haha....this reminds me the last time Imlie was in a sari with open hair at his engagement, he told her off for having too much makeup on😆.....so I think simplicity is what appeals to Adi a lot and that is what ultimately made him fall so deeply for Imlie. Then there's Imlie, who views everything in life in simple terms....he is her husband so he is the only man for her, end of story.....lol....they had that old stories wala pati-patni maanne se jo pyar dikhta hai waala vibe.

And then when these two people come together in a scene like this, then yes, it gives that old hindi movies wala vibe even more of simple characters ke intense emotions and yearning for each other...woh zamaana jab pyar sirf haath pakadne se hi intense lagta tha.....lol.....all they did in this scene was hug but it conveyed so much more passion and yearning than any typical modern day romantic scene could convey.

Yeah I'm getting the same feeling.....Imlie will remind him of his promises to Malini and push him to keep those promises....also given how much Adi in these last few days has shown ki woh Imlie ki khushi ke liye kuch bhi maanne ko tayyar hai, that card will be played too.....he will be willing to bear any pain to agree to Imlie's wishes. And Imlie bhi khud ke dil pe patthar rakh ke bolegi ki my wish is that you stay happy with Malini didi and keep your promises to her.

But Babusahib toh boomerang wildcard hain as always😆.....try karenge to keep this promise but inse kahaan hoga....and Malini will notice the differences for the first time as Adi won't be as successful in giving her the usual 100 I love you's to pacify her....she will not feel assured. She keeps claiming ki use sirf chinta hai but as you said, woh chinta bharose ko khaa jaayegi....waise toh it wasn't even proper bharosa to begin with...and that reality check will happen eventually.

For Adi-Imlie, it will be that star crossed lovers wala feel ki itna pyar aur tadap hai ek dusre ke liye but saath nahin reh paayenge. They will try to support each other even when apart in every way they can....Adi by trying to support her studies etc. and Imlie by trying to save him from his own impulses by taking the blame on herself to save his relationship with Malini......that kite flying scene will come to life.....dono kites kat ke bhi saath hi udd rahi thi....yeh dono bhi saath na rehkar bhi saath hi honge.

@bold: I don't think the time has yet come for him to make that decision....if he makes the decision, then yes come hell or high water he would go after her to make it happen. But what he accepted was that he is her husband....not yet if he is free to spend his life with her as he told her she also knows the responsibilities he's caught in.

So yes, Imlie will remind him that you can't make promises lightly and you have to keep them when you make them....she will push him to keep his promises more now. The first 100 epis went in Adi saying he will keep his promise to Malini....but now Imlie will push him to keep those even if he wants to back down.

The angst will come from the whole "dil hai ki maanta nahin" side of things I guess....they both will want to fulfill the promises/zimmedaari to Malini but they will keep losing the battle to their own hearts.
