Yeah, based on the way they showed him comparing his feelings for Malini with Imlie in this epi, it did seem like the writers are opening the door to a new phase.....that of Adi actively comparing the two.....yeah he's generally a 0 or 100 kinda guy but this realization doesn't seem like it's going to go that way.....it would be too quick a jump from him thinking one time about how he feels differently for Imlie v/s how he ever managed to feel for Malini and directly jump to a full realization.....7 years of delusions....heck his whole life of delusions will take time to be broken down I guess.
Right now the truth is knocking at the door of his mind but as he told Imlie also, he will keep denying it....in that sense, as Fary said in one of her posts too....lol it's quite something that he does end up blurting out some honest things about how he will conduct his denial even as he's building his castle of lies overall😆.
Re: NN giving him a reason....yeah I also think it was another one of those events where luck favored him to make him a "hero" instead of the villain😆.....problem started cuz of him only when he lashed out at Imlie....but end mein hero ban gaya kyunki sabke saamne badi declarations kar di to support her when he only was the one to call their marriage illegal.....lol yeah ok maybe he also felt some sense of "realization" as he was saying zaroorat....but unless he follows up on thinking about it, confirming it in the next epi, it will be another one of those things that get rendered pointless as something he just said in the moment😆.
I think the walls are already up pretty clearly in Imlie's mind vis a vis considering him belonging to Malini.....she's already resigned herself to managing it all alone.....he's done an effective job with all the Malini PDA, taking Malini's name after the snakebite....lol and then yes, never leaving a chance to call the marriage illegal. Some days back we were discussing in one of the threads maybe that he wants Imlie to call him her pati.....well, has he ever said to Imlie's face ki TUM humaari patni ho? 😆.....he goes around telling all manner of random strangers ki Imlie uski patni hai....bas Imlie ko kabhi nahin bolta....cuz telling Imlie would be like admitting it to himself....she's that mirror for him right now that he wants to hide from......so sorry Babusahib, you don't get a cookie for telling 10 villagers that Imlie is your aadat/zaroorat😆
Re: Adi-Malini scene.....yeah that is why I liked it too....it brought some clarity about the history of their relationship....and how Adi mostly treated it like another checkbox in his life which he could manage with some flowery words, milna-milaana, khaana peena......lol.....it worked cuz Malini also never asked for anything more than that....neither of them tried to form a genuine connection....they thought that was "understanding" and "space"....when infact it turned out to be disconnect.
In Imlie's case, he's forming a personal connection to everything related to her....her dreams are now becoming his dreams, he's calling her family his famliy too....the most striking thing is that he kept telling Malini for so long, "aap toh humaari hi rahengi".....but phir bhi apnapan nahin laa sakaa....while with Imlie, everything related to her is becoming his apna....he never knew what apnapan was before Imlie, basically. He couldn't even find it that much with his own family even though they are also warm/nice people....but only Imlie could teach him apnapan I suppose.
