Character Based Review- 18th March 2021

Finally got caught up with today's episode. For a change, Hotstar seems to be obsessed with the male lead of our show. Shaurya humiliates Anokhi, Shaurya Care for Anokhi?, Shaurya is jealous. Even the descriptions start with Shaurya. I was ROFLing reading these.

In today's episode:

Shaurya: No matter how much I make my mind to dislike him, I cannot. Thanks to KV who emotes so well. He is cute and handsome at the same time. Loved his banter with the ACP (will talk more about it later). And he was so cute in the solo scene in his room. "Kitne students aye, kitne students gaye, lekin kisine itna pareshan nahi kiya." When will this dude realize that he is falling? On one side he wants to stop Anokhi. On the other, he doesn't want to go to Patiala. Bechara doesn't why. Poor SS. And the best thing: Shaurya lied to Badima for Anokhi. Abhi se jhoot bola toh dating period main kya kya karega. "Uska naam Anokhi hain" the scene was beautiful. He came to the dining table with a smile on his face. As soon as Tej talked about Patiala, a frown graced his lips. Aww. I am waiting for the day when he realizes that he is in love.

Anokhi: Until yesterday, I didn't get why Anokhi cares about proving Shaurya wrong. If he is "kuch log" for her, then why care about him so much that you have to pay attention to his words? Now I understand that she wanted to walk out of the college with her pride intact. She wanted to give it back to Shaurya without using foul words or character assassinating him. I am proud of her. She might interfere in other's personal stuff and talk much without understanding, but she will make a great human when she grows more mature.

Aastha: She is the sweetest teacher I have known so far. She actually seemed like Anokhi's mother rather than a teacher. And she does all these with baggage in her heart. I wonder what she would for Shaurya if she does so much for Anokhi. She deserves to be united with her son. (Even shaurya deserves to be united with his mother)

Devi: What is this woman? She loves Shaurya too much. I don't understand her obsession with Shaurya. One point of view is she is infertile, so when she snatched Aastha's son from her, she turned proud and insecure at the same time. Logically, she should have turned secure, but she turned insecure. Maybe she genuinely loves Shaurya too much that she is afraid of losing him. Someone also said that she wants him because he is the oldest son in his generation, so having the heir of the family wrapped around her finger will be beneficial for her. I don't see how not having Shaurya around would make her lose her position in Saberwal family. Her husband is still the head of the family. Any thoughts on this?

Alok: The lesser said the better. He seems like a chamcha of Badi Ma. If I am not wrong he wants Tej's position. I don't see how he will get that by obeying each and every word of Tej's wife?

Gayatri: She knows what is right and what is wrong, but she cannot voice out her opinion. She tries to explain to her husband, but when does he ever listen to her? This family needs people like Aastha and Anokhi to knock some sense into them. Unlike Aastha, I hope Anokhi doesn't leave her family. And unlike Shaan, I hope Shaurya stands up for his wife.

ShauHir: ACP Ahir certainly sees the developing love Shaurya has for Anokhi. Mark my words, he will be the captain of Shakhi ship sooner or later. Shaurya advises him to keep his professional and personal life separate and Ahir says same pinch. He knows Shaurya has feelings for Anokhi. And bechara Shaurya doesn't know that he know. I am liking this guy now. As much as I don't appreciate him being so creepy with Anokhi, I won't mind if we get some bromance between Shaurya and Ahir.

The rest of the characters weren't present today, so I am not talking about them now. Today's episode lacked Shakhi scenes as well, but I feel it was needed. Anokhi was shown studying for the first time and Shaurya got to spend some time reflecting alone. Don't know how he will realize things and take the first step of redemption.

Devi is so obsessed with Shaurya that no matter who comes in Shaurya's life, she will have a problem. I bet she would not get so worked up even if she learns about Tej having an affair.

Shaurya's creepy stalking of Anokhi, I didn't like. Now he doesn't want to go to Patiala because he wants to keep an eye on her. The man needs to get a grip on his feelings and figure out what she means to her. If he is interested in her, approach her like a gentleman. If he is not, let her go out with anyone she likes.

Ahir is having a lot of fun at Shaurya's expense.

Aastha has always been Anokhi's guiding light and she will continue to be so. I hope she realizes that her son is also in desperate need of some guidance and does something about it.

Anokhi is re energized with coffee and dudh-biscuit. She will leave no stone unturned to prove her worth. However I don't know how can she prepare everything in one night.

Alok - In his own words, he is a chhuchunder. Treats his wife like dirt.

Gayatri - Hope she one day she can give it back to that husband of hers.

I know right. She will never let anyone come in Shaurya's life. Even if it is just a harmless prospective bride. With Devi around, Shaurya can never have a decent married life with anyone.

I don't think he wants to keep an eye on her. I feel like there is a sense of protectiveness in him for Anokhi which is overshadowed by his jealousy. I agree that he cannot get a grip on his feeling, but at the end of the day, this serial isn't ending anytime soon, so the characters have time left to develop.

Ahir is having a lot of fun at Shaurya's expense.

IKR. I am liking this guy now and looking forward to ShauHir bromance.

Aastha knows. Given the chance, she would chose Shaurya above everything else at this point of her life. However, Shaurya needs to be consentful.

I am sure she has reviewed some of the concept beforehand. She was the topper in Kapurthala. She can't have such bad study habits.

I have a feeling that Alok has an affair outside, hence he almost said... Isiliye toh...

And I hope Anokhi marries into this crazy house (Sorry Anokhi 😭 I love you, but this mad house needs you) and supports Gayatri as much as she can. I still recall that Gayatri is educated woman who too wanted career but couldn't speak up...

Just like she is helping Babli, she should help Gayatri break free from this doomed marriage or atleast bring Alok on path...

The world isn't so nice. She even has two unmarried daughters who won't want to leave Saberwal family. I am not saying her life should revolve around them, but having motherly feelings, it gets hard to leave your children and start life afresh.

I would love to see Gayatri starting something on her own, and being a strong woman... But if a show focused on such woman empowerment (Anupama) is a crappiest representation of woman... What do I expect from DJs where center of attention is just changing Shaurya ki soch... Bass itna ho jaye👏

Bold: I think they intended to have the show revolved around Shaurya from the beginning. it was titled Shaurya: Ek Anokhi Kahani at first. Later the channel asked it to change to Shaurya aur Anokhi ki Kahani. I love the equality here
