You definitely need to watch it. You know I would never advice you to watch garbage šŸ˜†

Have u read the book? The Johnny Depp version will be much more relatable in terms of books. And of course he did a terrific job ā¤ļø

Everything fit perfectly well in the movie...I know it gets a lot of hate but its the superior film for me.

Yes you would never tell me to watch garbage šŸ˜†

I try not to be biased (because I'm generally annoyed by people in BW remaking other Hindi films), but whenever I end up watching a BW remake it always turns out to be so sub-standard compared to the original...

Chalbaaz was the only exception to this so far as it was actually good... but Don, Agneepath, Khoobsurat, Judwaa remakes probably should have never even been made imo...

I didn't even watch the Coolie No.1 or PPAW remakes (knew Coolie No.1 would be terrible and I don't like Ananya)...

Makers need to realise that some roles and stories were written with certain actors in mind, for a certain time period...

Not every story is timeless and not every role can be played by any actor... try making original content that is written for the actors you plan to cast and for the times that you plan to release it in!

Its on Netflix too here in India, u can check the platform if its available in the States. I had read that all of Johnny's work was pulled off the platform in USA after Amber Heard's allegation...which turns out to be false dint it. But nice to know its on TV.

You will have to watch it with an open mind because its strikingly different compared to the 1970s version. I know Roald Dahl did not like the older one, that's why the studios were planning on making another version...unfortunately it got made after Dahl's death.

The older one is more like a standalone film but the newer one captures the essence of the book perfectly. Imo Burton decoded Wonka better...he wasn't a warm person, but an eccentric madman, a hero of the kids but the adults could see he was a lunatic. Classic Roald Dahl!

I preferred the Agneepath remake tho, the original for me was very average. I don't say Hrithik was the best actor in the remake, Sanjay Dutt and Rishi kapoor easily overpowered him, but the newer one had more flavour and feelings for sure.

The rest I absolutely agree with. āļø

Yes whilst writing the post I felt it was lowkey unfair on my part to group Hrithik's Agneepath with the Don remake or Judwa 2, it was easily way better than those šŸ˜†

I still prefer the original though haha

I am honestly on a J.Depp binge, I found him incredibly attractive as a child which confused the freaking hell out of me, but now as an adult...holy f***ing damn ā˜ŗļø

My past has become my present again and I am not sorry ā˜ŗļø

I absolutely have no problem if someone wants to remake a classic/old movie. Imitation is the best form of flattery anyway. If I like it I will watch it otherwise I will stay away from it. From the ones that I did watch, Agneepath remake I thought was a better movie than the original while Don remake sucked and a pale copy of the original.

I am now looking forward to Cirkus as the original Angoor happens to be one of my favorite movies and I am curious to watch another take on it.

Hey no biggie. The gutter is where we usually hang out šŸ˜†

Johny made some nice films. Pirates, Edward scissors, sleepy hollow.

He had that show 21 jump street

Ofcourse nostalgia is awesome

I watched Phir Bhi Dil Hain hindustani yesterday for no reason šŸ˜†

Dont mind me asking, but you drink? I can spend hours in the gutter then šŸ˜†

@bold: wtf why šŸ˜†

I enjoyed his work in the movies u mentioned plus Sweeny Todd, Fantastic Beasts, The Tourist too. Johnny is a chameleon, you know the first time I saw him was as Willy Wonka, I couldn't recognise him in real life. That was some serious transformation šŸ˜†

In fact I saw Murder on Orient Express recently on Disney+ and loved him as Rachett...that was the trigger for my suppressed love 🤣

I swear the man does not age, I want to know what he eats, for sure fillers and botox cannot give you that result! šŸ˜† Its Johnny and his few contemporaries who are the reason for the Tumblr and Wattpad rise 🤣

@red: Dude u had to mention that when I am three glasses of red wine down ā˜ŗļø I doubt I am getting any sleep tonight, thank u very much ā˜ŗļø
