I dont know what happened to her, she seems to have lost her confidence post weight loss. I loved her so much in LVRB, Dimple was funny and bubbly. She even won a special mention for Ishaqzaade and she was good in HTP.

After that things went downhill. 🤔

She's a decent actress IMO but no way suitable for playing Sita maa or even Parvatibai...

Hmm, I thought she was decent in Panipat.

Well alia also doesnt look fit to play gangubhai.

PC, Rani, DP wouldve aced it.

Alia is playing sita in RRR too not sure if that is linked to mythology though.

As a Maharashtrian I can never find her convincing enough to play a Marathi woman... that too a Peshwin? Never ever!

@b I agree... Alia has that baby face which doesn't suit for a role like Gangubai... I wish they had chosen some other actress(more like hunted out a new actress) to play the role but alas... I am not the casting director😆

It wont be linked to Mythology I guess... fingers crossed!

I respect your opinion but even this picture can't change my opinion...

The words I used in my earlier post were incomplete... I should have added that IMO she has a baby face+too innocent body language for this role!

Just because she got a soft look like OG gangubai never meant she is going to ace the role for every viewer... also biopics are never about looking the same as OG person... they are about show-casing the life of an individual which Alia fails to do for me...

Each to his own, but being a brothel owner and mafia queen is not necessarily about looking tough or even acting tough. That's very Bollywood, TBH. I mean, a con artist with cerebral palsy turned out to be a notorious gangster in Usual Suspects. Faizal Khan is kind of a loser in Gangs.

Also, the movie hasn't released yet to draw conclusions whether Alia failed or not.

I agree... but it's not a thriller as far as I know to expect such twists...

Movies especially biopics are about showcasing an individuals life journey within 2 hours and some mins... I believe with such conditions one needs tough acting to portray a mafia queen, one can't look soft through out the movie(unless a thriller) and be the mafia...

Haven't watched Gangs so no opinion there!

I have always thought trailers show the most powerful and interesting scenes and they help me judge a movie... never liked a movie with an unimpressive trailer... so can't trust this one as well.. but we never know... will still look out for genuine reviews
