Nishant Malkani was approached by Zee Tv to play the role.

It seems for zee he was 1st choice

1st look test was done with him & another actress(most probably Manisha Rawat) in which he was finalized by the channel but not the actress. So he had to do look test with 11 other girls.

When Iqbal Khan was reported to have been cast, the show was supposedly being made for SB.

Actor Jatin Shah who was also part of GTNHP from episode 42 onwards stated in an interview that production had approached him for role of AJ but he rejected it "that time" as he was busy with business work.

Also the audition videos suggests, the show storyline initially that was meant for SB was very different form what was aired on Zee. From what I deduce it had a village set up rather then Indoor ki gali.

Just wanted to say most probably for SB, 1st choice was Iqbal Khan as he has done many shows for them/Life Ok.

Producer Ghamand Raj is too chindi & with all due respect Iqbal Khan is too expensive. Iski aukaad ki bahar ka hai !

p.s. sorry for cutting inn.... I am a silent follower of this thread & a dil jala fan of Akshan. Baas mirchi lag gayi not cause of Iqbal being 1st choice for Guddan statement but by the possibility of the thought that Chindi Ghamand Raj can afford to even think of casting Iqbal as 1st choice. (actually dil jala-ness for Akshan has made me a devoted hater of Ghamand Raj)

I agree. I thought I was the only one who felt that way when I saw people praising Barister Babu for "unique" content. There was a scene immediately after some guy tried to molest Bondita where she delivers heavy dialogues about molestation and consent. Many people appreciated that scene. IMO, that scene would have been really epic, if an adult portrayed that character. But a kid mouthing such dialogues was uncomfortable to watch..Even in this scene, maang bharna ,saath vachan and all..does the kid even understand those dialogues?
