Dekho thoda expensive toh hoga....it has brand Priyanka attached to it..😆....its like any other branded item you buy...clothes, shoes, makeup, bags....branded items always cost a little more....when I go to NYC...ek baar toh try karoongi because its Priyanka's.....but she will have to maintain the quality for sure.

In Dallas if someone tries to sell chola bhatura for 25 dollars will go out of business the next day.....so I won't say ALL desi food everywhere is expensive.....but it depends where you live...if it has a heavy desi population ...you will find eateries of all price ranges.

It's not the best time to get into a brick and mortar restaurant business but likely they've been ready for some time and it's better to make some money than keep going into losses.

Also, I've eaten at tons of Indian eateries in the US over the years and there's all types - cheaper food, mid-range, and fine dining food. Obviously fine dining starts at $18-20+/dish and if you non-veg it will be more expensive. There are tons of cheaper versions with food from $5-$6 and in the $10-12 range. That's true at other cuisine restaurants as well.

Where is Drummond Street? I have been to London only once and was there just 4 days so didn't explore a lot...so is it close to Southhall?? Our cab Driver took us on a street near by and it was full of desi eateries...we even got some food packed to take it back to our hotel and it was so yummmm ..since we didn't have time to sit and eat....I am now wondering if it was Drummond Street??

It’s near central London, just one road of about 5-6 “Indian” restaurants that are mostly no longer actually Indian. Not close to Southall at all. Southall is Punjabi central and full of desi eateries. They have jalebi junction there, piping hot fresh jalebis uffff. 🤤 tbh the most authentic Indian food I’ve come across in my travels is Edison, NJ. Nothing else actually comes even close.

Drummond Street is most definitely not what it used to be. The dosas there are God awful, which I guess i’m not surprised about cos it changed ownership to Bangladeshi guys and chefs years ago. It’s not authentic at all and for the prices they charge, that dosa is really bad. Man, they couldn’t even get a basic ass coconut chutney right. Says a lot when most of the customers are gore. Really though, they should learn from Saravana Bhavana. These guys have branches all over the world and whether Malaysia, Singapore or London, I’ve never had a bad experience.

😂 sounds exotic.... ass coconut chutney 😛 😂

I wonder if this will give competition to Vikas Khanna’s Junoon in NYC 👀

oh OK...😆...yes must have been that...I especially wanted to see Southhall because of the number of movies that have been shot there🤣...I like to visit the places that I have read about or seen in movies....I know its silly but ah well🤔😆......I have grown up reading Mills and Boons and anyone who has read them knows the two most mentioned stores are Harrods and then Neiman Marcus....so my first stop in London was Harrods....My husband was like..why...we have better ones in USA and I said ..tum nahi samjhoge...😭

Have you been to Devon Street in Chicago...good authentic Indian food and sweets there also...India wala feel hota hain poora...❤️
