And of course they will be serving that more.. as it is more marketable to goray as well. Stayed in Kerala for a few months in 2019, and I must say it is probably the only place I've ever liked the Dosa.

I think it is more like exasperation that Punjabi culture has overwhelmed the rest of India in Bollywood depictions, food abroad etc. I like Punjabi food... to an extent. I also like North eastern, Bengali, Andhra, Malayali cuisines, etc. No malice involved, bhai/behen.

As for white people, call it Indian potato crepes, and they'll eat it, never bothered it's dosa from South India and not Naan from the north.

There's already a lot of competition in Manhattan when it comes to Indian food. I am not sure how Sona is going to be any different.

Someone earlier mentioned that Indian food is more expensive than Pakistani/Bengali/Sri Lankan etc. In NYC, especially in Manhattan, this is very true. I live in NY and Indian food in Manhattan particularly comes down to service, ambience, food and just the overall experience. In essence, you are not just paying for the food whereas the other South Asian spots in Manhattan, you are more or less just paying for the food.

In other parts of NYC such as Brooklyn or Queens..most South Asian spots are on par with their prices.

Even in LI too, I think the prices are somewhat on par.
