But that dream was really symbolic it showed he has broken that promise long back before marriage , phir sai ka haath thamma hai forever wrapping his arm around her

That's after Sai's aaba asked him to take responsibility of her and also I guess the villagers wanted them to get married. He was ready to go but he dreamed her in the worst situation thinking. He realized that she won't survive without him.
