Because of insider outsider debate insiders can never take acting for granted now on.Now all of them will have to put effort in acting to make people warm upto them.If the backlash wouldnt have happened pretty sure most of them would still be sleepwalking through roles without putting any effort.

Janhvi's body! Hot damn! I still cant deal with the Kardashian face, but cant deny that she has feminine moves and looks beautiful in this video...that was evident in Dhadak, when she was doing the twirls - she was looking beautiful there

Also I am glad they havent tampered with the original song a lot - I used to LOVE LOVE LOVE this song - I think it was in early college days, when this came out - we have danced a hell lot on this hehe

KJo is also giving chances to outsiders now like Tripti. If I'm not mistaken, his agency is representing her. It has to be a mix of outsiders and those with BO pull, or BW won't run. Jhanvi is an automatic BO draw for now, regardless of her acting skills. Maybe unfair, but it is what it is. Tripti won't be but can be in a couple of years with KJo's help. And Jhanvi is clearly working hard, so good for her.

OK this song is a turning point in her career.

It feels like when Sushmita Sen suddenly broke through in 1999 with Dilbar Dilbar and her act in Sirf Tum and her award-winning performance in Biwi No.1.

Is 2021 Janhvi Kapoor's year? OHMYGASH!! ❤️

I agree. The song isn't even that great, but her dancing will be noticed. She's pulled off sensual in a way no one has after Madhuri, to be honest. Sridevi of course did, but it was a few years prior to Madhuri. No one else has since conveyed sex appeal on screen with as much grace, even though there were ladies with great looks and figures.

My prediction for insider actresses with staying power are: Alia (already proven) and Jhanvi

See, it's like Vidya Balan said. Other people could make a Dirtier Picture, but not a Dirty Picture.

Sridevi and Madhuri could do the crassest of songs and moves and still somehow make it seem graceful and visually appealing, not only erotically.

Katrina had the sex appeal and the moves, but she couldn't match up to the 2 greats.

Don't know if I can compare her to Madhuri yet let alone Sridevi, but I agree she has pulled off the song with such an innocent sensuality. There is such a thin line between vulgarity and sensuality. Jhanvi didn't cross that fine line in this song.

As I have said previously, Jhanvi's greatest USP at the moment is her readiness to explore and experiment. Sure her debut was a love story, a rom com aimed at youngsters but even there her role was that of a girl next door. Gunjan was a totally deglam one and in Roohi I doubt if she wil get an opportunity to showcase anything glamorous (except for in the songs like mentioned in this thread), especially when her face will be switched between normal and horror-inducing. I find that extremely refreshing compared to the glamorous flowerpot roles that most of her contemporaries have stuck to.

On top of that, she comes across as the one with her feet firm on ground, is soft-spoken besides coming across as an extremely sorted and humble individual. Also, it now seems like a blessing in disguise that Sara was the one who got all the limelight (and rightly so) when both of them debuted about at the same time. So while public got to see an overdose of Sara, Jhanvi was relegated to the background. However, the unfamiliarity then has translated into an intrigue now.

Besides, she will always be the girl whose mother did not survive long enough to see her daughter on silver screen. The sympathy factor will always be there. However, being Sridevi's daughter will also be her biggest roadblock as she will be under pressure to deliver and do good from the get go.

At this juncture even I'm rooting for Jhanvi and Tripti from the inside outside brigade respectively.
