Pfffft! yes logical, some opinions are worthless quoting them is time and knowledge wasted, that is why media outlets make money, there is a need by those who cannot think on their own. Not sure who your baba is, so I will not take it personally, whatever floats your boat....

Even if there is no rule on here that one cannot quote others or give an opinion. I always pay attention to the message, the messenger is unimportant. Thanks, I will remind myself to be more selective in my "quoting" and keep to a quota of quality. 👍🏼Happy?

Peace.

Increased female presence will only help workplace conditions for female actors going forward. Hopefully, it will also mean better storylines for female characters. Madhuri, PC, and Anushka are making good movies. Anushka is giving chance to outside talent, too. Alia will be a welcome addition.

If you look at everything from a "feminist" perspective, a woman doing well anywhere will look like mankind is making progress. But speaking on an individual level, I don't think Alia herself gives a crap about creating a platform for women or outsiders. It's about her and elevating her name every which way she can ... and to insinuate that these people who can't see past their own noses are doing anything for the greater good is giving them WAY too much credit than they deserve. Not to mention that it would be a massive insult to those who do have the greater good in mind behind their actions.

Am sure none of the ladies opened their production houses for the greater good. Very few people open a business purely or even mostly for philanthropy. Why should they? Selflessness is great, but ambition also is not a dirty word. Alia is well within her rights as a HUMAN to want to advance regardless of who her parents happen to be.

Point was the fact there are more female producers would lead to betterment of working conditions for female actors and better female characters regardless of the reason behind business venture.

Also, ambitious women are good to have. Should encourage more of it in every field.

I hear you up to the point of ambition and hey, thanks for that refresher on human rights too.😛 I never demanded philanthropy or charity but I think when someone quite obviously makes a business venture to advance their personal brand (and their bank account), we should refrain from presuming social good and charitable intentions on their part. "Social responsibility" is the last thing I expect from them and last I checked, Alia has never been a public advocate for working conditions of women in bollywood either.

If someone still insists on focusing on the possibilities of something good coming out of it for the society as a whole, well... I guess that's not up for discussion, we're all free to believe what we want.

i called it HUMAN because a woman showing ambition should be as acceptable as a man doing so.

See... I didn't suggest Alia was opening her company out of social responsibility. That is the point. She can open one for any darned reason, including profit. Still benefits society purely by virtue of her being a woman. If someone focuses on opportunities handed to ANYone because of privilege of birth regardless of any benefit to society from it, it's not a matter of belief. It's a matter of seeing the glass half empty.

At this stage, we're running around in circles but I'm not sure why you assumed that my opinion on Alia extends to all the ambitious women out there ....as opposed to ambitious men at that!!! My opinion on her doesn't stem from gender bias by any means and then you capped it off with me seeing things as glass half empty.😳 My posts on her so far shouldn't have been sufficient enough for you to make all those conclusions ... that's overgeneralization on your part.

We should all be happy for every human being trying to move forward but how applicable is that in real? We all come with our personal biases, values, likes and dislikes. Alia is now a producer and you're happy for her, that's great ... but you can't "reason" others into cheering for her too for taking yet another short-cut cuz not everyone likes her or what she symbolizes, especially when it comes to her presence in bollywood.
