At the core, Dharmpal comes from an old school of thought where he considers the men to be the breadwinners and women to be the breadmakers. That is exactly why even when Garima and Susheela actually did the right thing by punishing Jagat's goons when they insulted him, his concern was their image and marriage. The second concern is fair, although he did try to force it when they are still completing their degree and Susheela vehemantly disagrees with it. He loves his daughters but having them earn (like he said in the hospital + when he handed them the heels and hair straightener) is a matter of shame to him, not pride since that signifies the incapability of the men of the house.
It's something he's most possibly seen growing up or conditioned with thus the formation of the ideology that a women are situated as homemakers whereas men aren't. As a father, he is concerned about their image from a societal POV. Something which Mini pointed out to him --- hearing this statement wasn't an easy pill for him to swallow & the pill remained undigested even after her advice. He is concerned for their future but the methodology is incorrect especially in the era we reside in. No matter what sort of work the girls are employed for, if he notices money in their hands, he feels embarrassed about it.
Shishu, as we know enjoys cooking while Susheela loves boxing (which was his passion too!) but he fails to encourage that since it seems like a swap of gender roles to him. Then again, this entire incident of Vikram using his mother's surname on the NOC, which made DP uncomfortable and he ended up passing unneccessary directives and judgement which obviously did not settle well with the other party. Vikram and Shishupal still on amicable terms even post that in college was a treat to our eyes, coz it just shows how even though Shishupal follows him, he knows what is right too.
Hmm, Shishupal did feel content on Kusum raising her voice during the kidnapping fiasco & does agree about retaining maintenance digitally because there is logic behind it such as potential robberies. He does get happy in serving his handmade food but gets criticism from DP. DP probably raised Shishupal & grew up witnessing this stereotypical behavior and owes it all to his elder brother and I believe this was mentioned when SP chided Chanchal for mistakingly speaking up or something in the earlier phases of the shaadi track or even in prior episodes. He has mentioned about the promotion in front of his family such as his brother, son and wife --- Chanchal wished for SP to speak up for himself while maintaining respect for his elder brother. Let's see how he progresses towards that phase.
He had trouble trusting Gunnu and Sattu even when his friends (+ some customers) vouched for them and their talent and later just because of log kya kahenge and to counterreact to Jagat trying to tarnish their friendship, was willing to get his daughters married to the boys who run his shop and potientially even take away whatever independence they had left to govern their own future. Meena also brought up this handicap of thinking as an interesting observation on the other post.
Not only with hiring Gunnu/Sattu or the usage of advertisement to promote K&S, he seems hesitant to try out new things + like you mentioned, rivalry with Jagat over his personal and professional property, it just created new hindrance in his mind constantly. Sorta like competition with Jagat. Both as his daughters and his employees in their masculine form, Garima and Susheela have to bear the brunt of getting coerced in an unwanted situation. Whether the object is animate or inanimate, he's hesitant to accept the change. Obviously, the climax will be when he sees his own kids collaborating on ensuring that K&S thrives in HB. When he saw the outcome of releasing just one ad on SM wherein people were lined up to get a hair cut or shaving then he did wholeheartedly accept the change but was oblivious that it was his own daughters who just adopted a stage name to hide their female alter egos.
Even though in a real-world situation, the boys are not bad, there is no basis to a relationship when his daughters are almost begging him to give them a choice on deciding atleast that aspect of their lives. The entire Susheela-Pramod alliance was also because he wanted them to marry asap and then be seen together, because he hugged her in public and Chanchal witnessed them. Caring about the society so much that you disregard your family is not a great trait.
Merely judging a photo or hearing about PDA from Chanchal was completely irrational on DP's part thus becoming decisive about their marriage. Again, it is all in his mindset probably that this tradition/norm hasn't died out and he feels threatened when someone (like Vikram, Mini, Gunnu/Sattu, etc) says it is nothing of this sort. Either get the girl and guy caught red-handed married or drink the poison from his amulet. Metaphorically, the writers did a smart use of incorporating a wheel chair/making DP handicapped physically and how it lines with it psychologically. Physically, he was injured when he was over-excited about getting his daughters married in a well-settled family. Mentally, he remained stagnant on that perception despite remaining on that wheel-chair. Quite a smart culmination, I must say!
Maybe the revelation of Gunnu/Sattu being Garima/Susheela and him getting out of the wheelchair will happen simultaneously, as he will forgo the handicap of thoughts and accept a progressive reality.
It can occur concurrently and letting his daughters pursue their ambitions hence why probably the three-month time frame, although it can be speculated safely that the duration will be elongated more than 3 months.
