Raj was confused because they both LIED to him.

How could the feelings Raj had for her at 8 years old be of more importance than the love that grew for 15 years of communication? Sharing experiences, thoughts and feelings for a decade and a half trumps a childhood crush and then 2 weeks as an adult based on lies (2 weeks where he probably spent more time with Pooja asking what was wrong with Tina) . All his romantic affection for Tina as an adult was predicated on those letters. It didn't exist without it.

He wasn't in love with Tina, just who he thought TIna was based on all those e-mails. He was in love with Pooja who was insecure and used to being in Tina's shadow. Tina took things as her due from Pooja doing her homework for her, to Raj dancing to win her that trophy (because she can't dance😆) to marriage to someone she couldn't be bothered to send an e-mail to for 15 years or tell the truth. Tina lied about the e-mails for months - up until the day before marriage and when she told the truth she did in a group of people and as if it wasn't an vastly important matter. She was a selfish, self important airhead. She had to have known how it stood by the end of the Medley. She does one good thing at the end of the movie but that's because the hero and heroine of these things can never call off a wedding on their own. 😛

I agree though that I prefer Yaeedin over MDK even if it's also a bit of a mess (in particular that island scene and that shareholder ending - oof). 😆 I think it's the best (hah) relationship between characters played by HR and Katrina - yes better than KG3 because I will never understand how anyone let alone sweet Rohan would choose a life with Pooh.

This was the films one bright spot

I remember feeling so bad for Tina.. with what her dad dying and all.. it felt like she must’ve really felt lonely in that moment, 🥺 lol

Oh it's a dumpster fire, no doubt about it. But we all seem to have made it our guilty pleasure and watched it a gazillion times. 😆😆 I can still watch it again but I always do so for the fire HR-Kareena chemistry more than anything. The songs too.
