Almost everyone is expecting the show will not work due its concept or whatever. But the thing is... TRPs are an unexpected thing. You just dont know when something may work or not. Its kinda hard to tell.

But my vote also goes to the second option. The supernatural genre also seems to be losing its charm on the ITV audience.

I think it would open well but as the week passes, it would go downhill if the chemistry between the leads is not captivating. Even in Naagin 5, only the chemistry between leads gave 1.5-1.9 ratings. Then when they start original story (backstory of Maarkaat) ratings dropped. Then the makers change the story overnight by bringing cringy tracks...

About the cast, I am not sure about Harsh Rajput is a bad or good choice and I think comparing him with Jai/MS is not right. Jai's character is supposed to be a third angle in a triangle and he must underact and to be suppressed by ML always and that is intentional and Harsh is ML so definitely he would have some strong characteristics.

I didn't even like the logo of the show.... Sighs*

From what I saw Jay’s character was earlier projected as the lover of the AdiNaagin, but people did not accept the pair moreover it was obvious that the CVS were testing the waters with the leads, VAni clicked and Jay got sidelined. Even as a villain his acting comes across as over acting. My point is he is not ML material, he can be a good actor but not an appealing ML, and the same goes for Harsh Rajput hence I compared him to MS, but this is just my POV which is obviously subjective.

Sorry to interrupt but I would disagree with the show starting as JAi being the main lead. You are right that he was meant to AN’s companion - the term they use is saathi right? My Hindi isn’t good but it translates to companion right?

The reason he was never meant to be the main lead I believe is for various reasons but let me say the two most obvious ones in my opinion. First of all their entries - jai and veers. Jai had a normal entry and cheelu babies was just and Vanis first meet. From

Lets not forget that in Kalyug "Kahaani badlegi". The moment Veer and Bani were in the same frame, you just knew they were meant to be endgame. There was no confusion or two ways about it. Jay was just a distraction, a third wheel planned right from the start.

You’re right about that, however what I feel is the reason they did that was because they were probably unsure about MS being the ML. Because if you go by the story and the promos it was supposed to be AN avenging her lover, but what happened is she fell for the guy who killed her lover and her lover turns out to be the villain to justify VAni. So now we no longer have the revenge story, and Naagin mostly does well on revenge themes because that is what people associate them with and here we got khichdi in the name of revenge. Ok let’s say Jay is third wheel and was intended to be that way, he still sucks and is a turn off. And a guy similar to MS when it comes to playing the ML is now cast as lead for the spinoff. 👏 👏
