Don't know if you said that in jest but you've hit the nail on the head mate. They clash because they are both competive with each other. In fact it is the decency of the contestants that this has not been exploited much in the house as a game strategy. They almost never understand the task the same way and that is their weakness and spend time convincing each other how smart they are.
