People here in siliguri are highly modern and mostly bengali but we have marwaris, punjabis, south indians, nepalis and infact foreigners too. They can easily make a family drama or romantic drama in the city backdrop but they dont even mention about it. For them bengali means Kolkata. Although Siliguri is called '2nd Kolkata' everywhere.

@GREEN Jason Tham was an excellent actor in Sanjivani after the guy who played Dr Raahil. Both deserved to be as main leads. But not only they were cute but their acting was highly realistic. Namit was the worst actor in the cast and him playing ML was just a painful experience.

I havent watched sanjivni nor i have watched any shows of other 2 actors so cant cmment on them but namit ko promo nd insta clips pe dekha hai nd seriously he is pathetic actor.....total wooden face

Accha khasa NarBhi ki jodi dobara dekhne ko milti but no. Nobody liked him actually. When Sbs reporter said that Nakuul and Surbhi are repeating we were extremely happy as in Ib Shivika were dead in the end. But they had to choose this wooden expressionless actor. We were like atleast kissi aur ko bhi toh select kar sakte the if not Nakuul. He dont even know how to act. Uska rona dekhke humme hasi aati thi. SC ke saamne uski acting bohot buri lag rahi thi but jaisa actor waise character Dr Sid, what an annoying characterization of both the two. SC's character Dr Ishani was also the worst FL i had ever seen.

They dont even properly explore bengali culture too. Over the years i didnt see a proper hindi show on bengali background in Mumbai or Delhi setup. For national audience they have a basic idea through EK's shit shows that bengali people does OTT makeup, eat macher jhol and rosogulla and does Durga pooja (mandatory), then comes a weird bengali accent. Pathetic. Previously there were rumours that Shaadi Mubarak will be a story of two mature adults who are bengalis so i was excited but when show started they turned out to be rajasthani. Like there's sooo much of gujrati and rajasthani backdrop shows when it comes to bengali always Ekta brings it, its ridiculous. I desperately want Khorkuto's remake to be on bengali family background, atleast people and specially EK should know that we bongs are not only limited to majher jhol but baked fish too lol. Not but seriously i want a modern bengali romantic show. And just dont want any of the character to wear sarees in that past 50s style.

Its high time shows on these culture should be made. Already other states don't give them proper respect and mock them. With shows like this they can bring awareness.

I am irked with the way they show Bengalis. The Bengali classmates I had in school I was unaware they were Bengali for 4 years because they would talk in hindi or marathi only. And as a kid I would go ta a tuition in bengali family where no one dressed in frill sarees with puffy blouses but normal clothes like for adults maxi and salwar suit at home while salwar suit and sarees outside. Also whoever Bengali person I known I seen no one talking hindi in Bengali accent or hindi with bengali words or lines in between. Also no one wears huge bindis and heavy jewelleries except may be in festivals. They don't always eat fish and rasgulla but other foods too.

He is Jason Tham. Imagine him being paired with SC. Some would accept the air normally like they did in his D3 show but many would write nasty comments on his looks or how SC don't suit with him.

In clothing, my dad ask my mom to wear jeans if she is comfortable to it i mean thats how modern we are and the ITV makers show us as if like we are from some other planet. Girls here are of all types starting from wearing salwar suits, top leggings to sleeveless top shorts, maxis etc. And who wear puffy blouses at home. Thats all Ekta Rubbish. 🤣

I am a fluent hindi speaker like the other 90% hindi speaking bengalis so i dont understand what makes this 'speaking hindi language in bengali accent' so funny. Like 'Kya korta hai tumi'.... Okay its funny i admit. But no one speaks like that. 🤣

Except festival occassions nobody wears heavy cloth jewelleries toh door ki baat and its true that we bengalis are fond of fish but that doesn't hum saara din sirf machhliyaan khaate rahenge. 🤣🤣

Honestly i find north east people plain 'Beautiful'. Their styling, their looks all are just so cool. Jason Tham opposite SC would have been really good or if not Jason Tham then Meiyang Chang, who could have played Dr Neil's elder brother. Anybody good actor over Namit.

Exactly.Thats what I felt about the portrayal of tamilians in hindi shows n movies.Always wearing kanchipuram sarees, eating only idli sambar, speaking english only with tamil accent.Rajnikanth is a tamil actor. But all hindi channels say that he is the superstar of south.
