I felt he was telling kaku that not always and all things can go as per her wish which is Sai as he looked at her. So if we do not like something it's best to ignore rather pull a fight. It was basically a taunt.

Sai felt bad yes, as she doesn't know what this man is doing. He is going like a yo-yo ride. If we see the scene clearly, she hasn't responded to Virat on anything even when he told her to eat.
