I read It Ends With Us. Gave it 5/5. It's brilliantly written and I still think about the story from time to time. I am so glad I read it! I had written my thoughts but don't know which page it is on. 😆

I also finally finished Anxious People today. So technically the first book of 2021! I gave it 3/5 :(

@Shanam: Congratulations on becoming a groupbie! 😃

@Anam: The first BOTM is exciting!

I had mentioned in the other thread how I have been wanting to read Rebecca especially after the movie release. So, I can stop procrastinating now and get to it this month itself.

Happy New Year to all you lovely people who I have so much fun discussing books with! 🤗❤️

I gave anxious people 3 stars too😆how many books are you people aiming to read this year?

I give It Ends With Us 5/5 too. My first Colleen Hoover novel and I am glad we picked this one. Many people in our society wonder why women stay in abusive relationships, this story makes it so clear and portrays Lily's emotions so well. I was so scared while reading the novel because I thought she will end up with Ryle, but my heart was always with Atlas and he deserved a happy ending and so did Lily. The ending gave me a pleasant surprise!❤️ My favourite part was when she held her daughter in her arms for the first time, and at that precise moment she knew exactly what decision to make. I guess you people dont watch Pakistani dramas, but there was a drama called Kankar which had the exact same story. It was a masterpiece and one of my favourite dramas of all time. You guys should give it a try if you enjoyed It Eds With Us! The dialogues were very powerful and you wont be disappointed.

Crazy Rich Asians had way too many characters, it was very difficult to get innto the story at first and understand all the characters and how they are related. I still dont understand many of them due to the complicated names lol. I even felt Rachel and Nicks story and characters were not written very well, I find them quite boring. The Astrid-Michael-Charlie angle was what kept me glued to the story. (though Charlies story doesnt properly begin until book 2)

I give this one a 3.

Now I cant wait to read more books by Colleen Hoover! She has become my second favourite writer after Sidney Sheldon. I think I may try to read Layla next (her newest novel) though I am not sure if I will be able to enjoy it as much because its all written in the guys POV.

@all: I’m glad that all of you are excited about this month’s pick. I hope all of us get around to reading it because it is quite a popular and well reviewed (mostly) book.

@Shreya & Hinna: It’s great to know that both of you loved It Ends With Us. According to me it is Colleen Hoover’s best book. I think it came from an honest place and that’s why it was good because Colleen Hoover has written some trashy novels as well.

@all: For next month’s BOTM, we will try and read 2 romance novels since you can get through them quickly. Initially I thought we’d pick 2 books by CH but then that might be an overdose, so now I think we should pick a recent highly rated romance novel and one of Hoover’s recent books.
Let me know what you’ll think. Would you want just 1 romance novel by any author or one by CH and another by any author?

@Hinna: My mom has watched Kankar and quite liked it. It’s been a while since I watched a Pakistani show. The last one I watched was Yakeen Ka Safar. The shows these days don’t match up to what they were earlier.

I’m trying out K-dramas these days and I plan to watch a Turkish show. Indian & Pakistani dramas don’t have much to them these days.
