What is the meaning of intellectual ? I never heard It from STEM fields , is it got something to do with pretentious fields like ‘Literature’ who think just coz they read Shakespeare they are above everyone. STEM field people chew this stuff for recreation.

Please do not disparage a liberal arts education. Science is great but that doesn't make it superior to Art. Film aside from being a business is also an Art. If there were more Lit majors in the film industry maybe we'd have a greater emphasis on good writing in films.

agreed ! But what’s all these people clubbing themselves as intellectual while disparaging others who have contrary take on matters.
every chiller film reviewer is calling themselves intellectual while mocking others as B grade and C grade . Showing mirror to such people . None of these are curing cancer or corona .

Not me , it’s popular opinion in prestigious universities how liberal arts have become nothing but pretentious. Again , not me .

Calling oneself “intellectual “ itself is putting above everyone else ,which you never see from anyone other than Lit ppl . None of these are true original thinkers .
