Why cant BW make good action thriller movies ?

By good I dont mean illogical masala like Dabanng or War, but sth like the Raid (well known Indonesian movie) or South Korean action movies . I can understand if they cannot make sci fi or fantasy but grounded action/thriller movies dont require a very high budget.

Because here action is equated to stunts and not storytelling.

True, but they are lapped up by those who don't watch HW movies and have no exposure to international cinema.

The Raid has storytelling? 😆 It's wall to wall characterless video game violence. One can admire the fight choreography and the pacing but there's nothing else there at all.

They don't have creativity or pushing writers who can actually bring it to table.

South Korea couldn't manage to beat other cinemas due to budget, but they took over by stories and evolution of some really great directors.

Even the south Korea thriller that they have copied bollywood have made a joke out of it barring few exceptions say like chaser-murder 2.

Bollywood is happy with mediocrity, they are millionaires who can be multi millionaires if they focus on cinema but they can't.

Also, raid was great balls to wall action with unique action choreography, we made sada hua version of it in baaghi, that's bollywood standard, that's why even in cinephile groups bollywood don't ever get mention.

I haven't watched Raid, so can't comment.

But from what I've heard, South Korean dramas also have a strong story backing the action.

The same reason they can’t make good movies in the other genres...
