houses like mannat are white elephants . The Money and staff that goes into the maintenance ...wonder if it can be maintained for multi generations.

It’s valued 200 Crores but ... I read somewhere that the monthly maintenance of that building runs into tens of lakhs ...

How many tens I dunno.

so it’s prolly financially sane to have several apartments and rent them out .

there are many old timers who have independent family homes like Ajay Devgan ...anil kapoor etc .

I saw an interview where Ajay was told that he was the channel ‘s landlord . He was like “ oh which one “? Imagine how many properties he may have ... Another super wealthy guy but the press generally focus on khans and BacHchans.

Mumbai is so much like manhattan ... life is better in luxury apartments with beautiful views than the plains ... they come with excellent concierge services , separate floor for domestic help , in house maid etc .

lol, what are you talking about? Loads of apartments in NY are infested with roaches and rats and are in poor condition. The small apartments you are comparing with Mumbai are terrible in NY too.

You aren't paying for the quality of the apartment. You are paying for the location. Someone would buy the fixer upper for 1.3 million and renovate it and make it nice and it would be worth a lot more.

I was talking about expensive properties, the bad apartments in NY will not cost you millions of dollars, but bad looking apartments in Mumbai do. That was my point.

and why would u buy old property so much and even spend much more to renovate it

mumbai is like manhattan, and you can check out apartments by Lodha etc if you want to see a real luxury apartment in Mumbai.

and as someone else mentioned, you are paying for the location and the space, the decor is up to you.

Sanju baba has a huge bungalow/building. But I guess new stars can’t afford it. They’ve to live there, I personally would prefer a quite place worth my money. Some of the houses around the world are so beautiful and inexpensive compared to mumbai. Jagah ka achaar daalna hain kya, noisy, polluted, not for me.

If I’m an actor in mumbai I’d only come for work/shooting if possible. I want quietude 😁

People the 3 rules of Real State are:

LOCATION

LOCATION

LOCATION

That is the way Mumbai is set up and nobody wants to be stuck in traffic for hours after driving 1 hour to get to the city. These people are busy they need to get to offices and locations pronto! So they see their home as a "pie-à-terre" to crash into after long flights and hours.

Someone on here mentions the USA as a comparison, and let me tell you some areas around Hollywood are ghettos full of junkies and poop. Celebs quickly come and go in their chauffeured limos, close the gates and don't look out. A one million dollar apartment in those areas is a hovel or a dump, but the neighbors do not bother them nor the paps hound their house like they do in India, they walk in and out just like regular peeps, because they are, not even the homeless gives any celeb a second look on Rodeo Drive, unless he is handing out one hundred dollar bills or two. Some celebs go out into suburbia to get a huge mansion and lush setting but then they have to travel into the city of "Lost Angels" and spend hours on the 405 @#$#@^, the pits believe me, I am a survivor of the carmaggedon. Look at Koby Bryant he had the mansion and the money but he had to use a helicopter just to take his kid to a regular everyday sport practice/game, he had to hop on that all the time. May they RIP in GODs loving embrace.

So it is not a matter of better or worst, or more money is just personal choice and convenience, the world has many beautiful places were celebs have beautiful homes (you guys have no idea😊, because that is the idea, to have a paradise to go to, where no body can find you).

Peace
