2 states overrated movie

I think it was a very overrated and long movie and the director was hellbent on showing Punjabis in a bad light even though I agree Punjabis can be a bit reckless but on the other hand Tamils were shown to be saints which is not true either. Recklessness etc depends on personal behaviour, it has nothing to do with religion, ethnicity, caste, creed etc. Coming to the movie, Acting was just okay too nothing amazing at all

I don’t like the movie, but I don’t think Tamils are shown to be saints - they are shown to be wound up and people who take themselves way too seriously...which is an exaggerated stereotype that has its basis in some truth, just the same way the punjabis are portrayed.
we are a Hindi speaking family with a Tamil bhabhi ...we actually enjoyed the parts where Amrita Singha dn Revati scenes, what I didn’t like about the movie was the unnecessary drama..at no point did I ever feel for either Alia or Arjun’s character. I found the, both too self involved.

Maybe the songs were and Aalu-Arjun gave it some hype, but waise toh kisiko padi nahi thi😆

It was nominated for Best Film, Best Director at Filmfare. And Alia Bhatt got nominations at other award shows for it. That makes it majorly overrated.

I didn't love the soundtrack either.

True only Mast Magan was good. It was way overrated back in the day, I remember everyone saying its the best movie and I was like eh and then i watched it and couldn't wait for it to end

We all know who runs the FILMFARE and other awards - the KJO and YRF camp. I never go by those standards, such bakwas that is.

Filmfare shouldn't be taken seriously😆 but the hype around the movie did die eventually, afaik...
