Whenever he scold her too hard he always feels a little bad afterwards in spite of himself. It's almost like he couldn't help himself from feeling that way. 😳
Earlier also when he was being very very nasty 🤢 with her when she came to say thanku for sending away the police and was basically taunting her , but when she finally let him see how much she's lost and showed him her side of the coin, and left in a tearful huff , his eyes were all teary and he looked thoroughly miserable.
In the ring scene too , he totally brought the vaseline lotion because she was hurting herself in trying to wriggle the ring out and he just stood there watching her silently and then saw her in distress and afraid . He just had to step in. 😳
Also , he said that disgusting " Ring sahi pad hath galat ... chandan mitti.. " 🤢👎🏼 line , there the peculiar thing is , initially he was totally silent , just stood there watching her with his fixed gaze , he didn't said a word to stop his mother from trying the ring on Imlie , once it fitted her then also he could've said what he said but he didn't . He had that.. that connection face ( I've no other better word for it really ) , then they were left alone and she was scared shitless that he's again going to lash at her and told him she's immediately going to remove it - complete silence ! Like ?? That line could've been said at any of these points.
But only after she removed it herself and then told his mother it is not fitting her , he said it as if oh so you don't think my ring fits you ??? Good then ! It's not for you. Looked like a reaction rather than something he wanted to say all along .
