Is is expected for actresses to strip?

I think this is true for all film Industries in the world

Actresses are expected to strip or do sexual scenes to become popular

In Bollywood for example, after 1960's so many actresses started to strip

Saira Banu (Dilip Kumars wife) was the first mainstream popular actress to strip infront of the camera in the 1960's

Then came Mumtaz, Zeenat Aman, Dimple Kapadia etc...

heck even Neetu Singh (Ranbirs mom) has done full flash Cleavage showing scenes

Then obviously Rekha, Sridevi, Jaya Prada, Madhuri, Juhi etc... all did their sexual, vulgar scenes to become popular. This has continued till today . It seems like it is expected for most actresses (Other then few) do these sort of scenes to become popular.

Does anyone know how the director communicates to actresses, especially the ones who are popular, to strip?

I am assuming it must be so awkward. Imagine telling Madhuri dixit to strip or show cleavage, I wonder how do they do that?
